My 2 youngest children have been offered to go to school. One is having assessments for special needs the other is not but he's been offered as well. They do not have any health problems. I'm not sure what to do?

Why has the place been offered?
Does anyone at home have health issues?

No one has health issues. I'm not totally sure. Maybe she just thinks they will be better at school. Maybe I'm a crap teacher.

Assessments can only be done if the child is in school. Clearly your childs school feel the assesment is important. I would pwehaps discuss a part time attendance on their quieter days.

It's not to have assments in school. I was just saying in general hes having assessments for autism. He is way beside academically as well.

I'm assuming school have offered him a place due to his potential extra educational needs - does he have an ESP or EHCP in place?

Our DS has an ESP in place and we are in the process of applying for his EHCP with schools assistance and he has been offered a place in school (which I didn't expect or ask for). Due to his delays we have gladly accepted the space... trying to get him to engage in homeschooling is very challenging so it's much better for him to be in the school environment.

I think you need to just weigh up the pros and cons & decide what you feel is best for your dc considering they have offered you places.

He does not have an esp or ehsp. But he does get quite alot of help. So although he's not got one yet he may be in his way tk get one. So maybe it is similar to what you say.

Sorry i should have explained more, ASD assesment requires a lot of evidence based observation from multiple locations including home and school.

Not having any come from school for an extended length of time will delay that process.

Hi i know there were reports sent from the school. But he's getting a diagnosis in the next couple of weeks. Not sure what way it will go. Hes been seen by different people since 2.5 but big gaps in between

Sounds as if school think he would benefit. Maybe now there's less children they might have more time to spend with him and help him?

That's what they are doing with my DS.

That's what I'm thinking as well. It's not the actual teachers it's the TA but he might still get a bit more help compared to when all the children are in.
