Hi, wonder if anybody can give me some advice.
I have been approved on a property via my housing association but the property has 1 room less than my need but has an extra reception room to make a bedroom. I'm awaiting them to go in and do what they need to do to the property but they said they need to make sure the rooms are adequate sizes for the family. surely they already know the size of their rooms as they are the landlord. I'm worried that they will turn around and say they can't offer it.

They will be checking that by offering you it, that you are not overcrowded by law as social landlords cannot let properties if it means you would be overcrowded.

They should know the room sizes and are just checking to make sure.

Some social landlords don't let you bid on properties that are too small so would imagine it'll all be ok unless its a mutual exchange which is why they need to check

Usually i wouldn't be offered the property as i am supposed to have a 4 bed but because it has a second reception room they have offered it. Originally the local council rejected their offer but the allocations team managers asked them to reconsider and it was all approved but the lady mentioned that they need to go in and check the sizes then i can view. It's just confused me, they did it on the property i have now too but it puts me on edge.
