LVT flooring troubles

Have namechanged as have bored all my friends and family on this.
Have had lvt laid and it was really bouncy and flappy when walked on. Retailer agreed to add screed but warned me it would not be perfect. I was surprised to hear this as was not told at the start 'it would not be perfect' but thought allowing him the chance to rectify would be the right thing to do.
Large patches of sub floor was screeded, floor put back down. It's still the same. I imagine the floor actually needed to be completely screeded and levelled.
I cant actually live with the floor as the movement and clapping noise when walked on is driving me mad. I was never told this was what the floor would be like.
Before I ring the retailer on Monday what do you think my options are? I have paid 50% by credit card. The LVT was £50 sm including fitting, so not cheap.

Does it have underlay?

Google 'does LVT require underlay?'

It suggests it does IF the 'surface below' is uneven.

The whole of our downstairs was screeded first and mdf was laid down when the upstairs was done. I thought it was imperative to have this done.

Ours has absolutely no ‘flappiness’ at all, it’s just like a proper hard floor. Ours is Amtico.

This is not acceptable at all! As you say LVT is not cheap so should be perfect. Which brand did you go for and were the fitters approved to fit it? Our whole floor was screened so it was perfectly flat before the LVT was laid. I'd demand it was redone

The brand is Coretec Plus, no underlay. (Apparently not required).
After the first install, they said for completely flat results I should have had the floor levelled. But it was a bit too late by then as the floor was down. I think the sub floor is just not flat enough, and needs levelled, that's quite apparent now the floor is laid.
The company that fitted (and supplied) said they dont level floors.
What is annoying me is I'm left with an imperfect floor as they didn't due any due diligence prior to fitting. The hallway, lounge and study were not checked prior installing. Theckitchen has a bit of screed added the night before the first install but was not enough.
Now they have screeded patches, there is also 'mounds' or ridges.

Because theyve now had 2 attempts to do the floor and both have failed, do I have to allow them a third go? As far as I can see the only fix is to level the floor and that's a service they can't do.

We have just had LVT laid, and had to have the whole floor screeded first. I have no complaints about it at all, so sounds like they should have advised you this would be required in the first place.

Isn't screeding part of the process ?

G8texpectations · 02/02/2021 10:19

Update. Full refund and flooring will be removed.

So we can start again Confused
