I'm crying. Because I can't get into my packet of Rich Teas

Well - I've managed it now (and have dropped half of them into my tea - that'll teach them to mess with me). But I was properly noisily crying Shock.

I'm fairly sure sobbing because you can't find the little tab thing on your biscuits is not an appropriate response.

Something else must have happened or be bothering you?

BrutusMcDogface · 30/01/2021 11:12

Sounds like extreme stress or sleep deprivation to me; I’ve suffered both with similar effects. I cried my eyes out because I couldn’t open a packet of food the other day.

How’s life for you at the moment? Flowers

The easiest way to open a pack of biscuits packed as a cylinder is to ignore the little tab and just slide a sharp knife in under the first biscuit.
I hope you can sit and enjoy the tea and biccies now and de-stress a bit. BrewBiscuit (sorry it's the wrong sort of biscuit, for once being used non sarcastically)

Final straw, isn’t it?! Have you got something nice you can do today? Walk listening to music; have a bath; watch a film; phone a friend?

I cried when I dropped a bottle of mayonnaise on the floor and the plastic cracked so mayo shot out all over the floor.
I don't even like mayonnaise. It wasnt for me to eat. Still pushed me over the edge after a rubbish week.

I’ve been there. It’s just the straw that tips you.

lazylump72 · 30/01/2021 11:52

oh bless you OP..sending you a hug sounds like you need it! Hope the rest of your day improves.Think most of us have been there at some point one way or another. Bloody rich Ts how dare they?!!! Dry your eyes and on your essential shopping trip next ,may I suggest a few nice treats just for you?Go on bet you deserve it and strictly no sharing!!!

Ah you're all so kind, thank you! I knew people on here would get it! The dc (all 16 and over, no traumatised tiny ones) were looking terribly worried!

Yes, it was the proverbial straw after a horrid week. All good now though, and the biscuits have been properly eaten disposed of.

I was going to ask if it might be the straw that broke the camel's back too, but looks like it was!

Just a tip for the future - Don't bother with the little pull tags, a bread knife slices straight through the packet and gives instant access to biscuits, cake, sweets etc.

FishyMcFishyfingersFace · 30/01/2021 13:17

And don't worry, I've cried over less.

Grooticle · 30/01/2021 13:21

I once publicly cried - full on snotty uncontrollable sobbing - because tesco didn’t have the flavour of crisps I was looking for. It was pretty hard to explain to the flustered but helpful 18 year old shop assistant that it wasn’t really about the crisps. Happens to us all from time to time. Hope next week is less stressful :)
