Anyone bought a new boiler in the last year or two?

Can I ask your opinions please?

Our boiler is on the way out, 15 years old and makes a shocking noise whenever it's turned in.

Had it serviced a year ago which sorted it for a little bit, but the noise is back even worse!

So do we go with a well now company such as Brisitsh gas, more expensive but comes with all warranties and 24/7 call centre etc.

Or a more local company that’s £700 cheaper? But has good trust pilot reviews?

Had my boiler replaced in Nov 19 when I moved to my new house. Boiler was ancient and I wanted to be sure it wouldn't conk out over the winter! Got a local company to do it - they use Worcester boilers - and they also do the annual service. I would much rather use a local business as think they are more likely to give a good service than someone big like BG.

I went online to Which? and looked at the best boilers. Worcester Bosch was my choice based on the research. Then I found a Which? recommended local company that specialised in installing Worcester Bosch boiler. Fabulous boiler (it replaced our 30-year-old dinosaur).

I always use Which? for all sorts of recommendations.

Ideal Logic Max fitted by local fitter last summer. So far so good. Replaced an ancient (30 years plus)but effective back boiler but worried it could go at anytime. It also meant we gained a cupboard in the hall where the back boiler and tank had been. Connected to Nest.

Friend has BG service and emergency call out. To be honest she's had nothing but trouble with them.

Worcester Bosch boiler was our choice, installed by a local tradesman, excellent so far and much cheaper than BG.

British Gas have fitted our boilers, last year and in previous house I lived in within the last ten years

Worcester Bosch boilers both times, excellent boilers and service from British Gas .

They are more expensive but I tried local companies and ended up with problems (hence emergency fitting of new boiler in December due to the other one being condemned- it was being 'serviced' yearly by a local 'reputable' and registered company )

We also have had free homecare in both cases and a hive this time around.

Ours came from Boxt and is a Worcester Bosch. No complaints.
