I don't know but my oldest is 13 next week and the youngest is 10... jumping on for ideas!
We've dusted off the old wii and played Go Vacation, watched the entire Star Wars and Simpsons, made countless cakes and biscuits and traumatised the dog with extra walks and inevitable baths. Most of my suggestions get me hard stares, particularly since they just want to jump onto the Xbox after a days homeschool. Argggh!

PolarnOPirate · 29/01/2021 20:14

Roller skate/blade/skate board
Lego project
Any art project from Pinterest

House projects
Outdoor game eg cricket, tennis, in the garden
YouTube family dance class?
Mosaic picture from cut up magazines

Escape room

Bunnybigears · 29/01/2021 20:40

@PolarnOPirate thanks for the ideas, I forgot to mention oldest suffers from chronic embarrassment if having to do anything outside incase his friends see him with his parents! And we have no outdoor space!

@CharadeSalad have you done a virtual one? I have heard mixed reviews.

I've found a way to keep teens busy and at least a little bit active is to give them life skills training. DS2 cleaned the gutters out a couple of weekends ago, they've washed the car, done some painting and decorating, had detailed instruction on how to clean the windows and bathroom to my standards DS2 changed a light fitting, DS1 fitted the dashcam in the car. Obviously with some supervision but time well spent.

Do a real life one. Lock them all in a room and see how long it takes them to get out 😂

TheVolturi · 29/01/2021 20:49

Would Geocaching make a walk more cool/bearable for them?

Look up Durham Escape Rooms and try their free one - might help you in finding out if you like them?

Housing101 · 29/01/2021 20:51

Is there a room they could paint? Any skirting boards need re painting or little easy DIY jobs need doing?

Painted a room last week with DC and it took up a whole day. Felt good to be doing something, and able to see a good end result. Good enough, anyway.

Spottysausagedogs · 29/01/2021 20:54

I just tie-dyed one of my daughter's t-shirts using bleach and some ice to give it a more modern edge. Its actually loads of fun. Can be difficult to get teen boys interested in creative stuff but I bet they'd enjoy it. And they're dead fashionable at the moment Grin
Just look up on youtube, can use any cotton coloured garment

IDontMindMarmite · 29/01/2021 20:54

Sewing
Puzzles
Woodwork
Make pizza from scratch
Youtube yoga
Painting
Rearrange / redecorate rooms in your home
Jog
Puzzle books
Train the dog/cat/budgie to do tricks.

nicknamehelp · 29/01/2021 20:55

The Macmillan escape room is good.

umpteennamechanges · 29/01/2021 20:59

A run Grin

CheddarGorgeous · 29/01/2021 21:01

Wild swimming!

Spottysausagedogs · 29/01/2021 21:08

Also card games but I'm guessing you've already done that if already sick of board games

CompleteBarstool · 29/01/2021 21:14

Another vote for decorating.

Could they choose a colour scheme for their rooms and paint them? Even if it's just one feature wall.

Or upcycle a piece of furniture for their room? Either something you already have or buy something cheap off Facebook Marketplace

MiddleClassMother · 29/01/2021 21:15

A run?

Echobelly · 29/01/2021 21:15

I'm thinking about this as I'm taking 3 days off at half term and clearly the situation will not have changed by then, and we've walked just about everywhere we can around here repeatedly (and it could easily be raining all three days). And some of the nicest, most bucolic walking spots are totally waterlogged now.

We do have an awful lot of underplayed board games... (Mine are 9 and 12, btw)

dudsville · 29/01/2021 21:17

When I read your thread title my reaction was "skipping?". I can now see the suggestion is inappropriate.

Stupidusernamefaff · 29/01/2021 21:18

Now there’s an idea!

Stupidusernamefaff · 29/01/2021 21:18

Sorry that went on wrong comment!

WoodpileHouse · 29/01/2021 21:20

String art!
