Mine was Claire's Accessories lucky bags, used to feel through them all to find the best ones! £2 pound but with tenners worth of stuff in. Bargain! Bought one every Saturday, then went to Asda to buy top of the pops magazine and enter all the competitions to win CDs. I won loads 🤣 it was brilliant.
Can't imagine my DDs doing the same. They just want bloody screens.

@ChessieFL I didn’t realise they didn’t do penny sweets any more!

ChessieFL · 29/01/2021 14:43

Well you can get the same sweets in pick and mix but they’re more expensive now. I haven’t seen anywhere for years that literally sells sweets by the penny.

Barbie clothes.
Mini Cabbage Patch dolls.
Mizz magazine when I was older.

Smelly erasers
Stickers
Bouncy balls
Whatever I could afford from Body Shop

Deathraystare · 29/01/2021 15:28

Damm Trolls
later on Mary Quant or Miners make up.

Penny sweets or a Beano.

Oh, the excitement when there was a jumble or boot sale and I could go scouring it for Keypers, My Little Pony toys or Very Sophisticated Things like those blue glass perfume bottles with the metal filigree cases. I've still got an enormous slipware vase I bought at one of them for £2 - it's known as the Fugly Jug Grin .
