Pramsuits have no “feet” in them after 12months. Need warm “shoes”

Tried to explain badly in thread title!

I have my 9mnth old in the backpack carrier a lot. So her feet stick out the bottom. She’s growing out of her snowsuit and I need to get a 12month size but they don’t often have built in feet. Which is annoying. Plus loads actually out of stock currently.

Can anyone recommend some boot/shoe type things that actually stay on the baby’s feet? Purely for warmth as she doesn’t walk.

Slipper boots - mine were from next and matalan.

FlibbertyGiblets · 28/01/2021 10:41

What about Daisy Roots, they are very soft shoes?

FlibbertyGiblets · 28/01/2021 10:42

I got some slipper bootees for my granddaughter in next & Sainsbury’s.

Stonz boots are good and can be used as early shoes too. Pricey but can often get second hand.

Clementine8 · 28/01/2021 10:45

I use thick slipper socks as i find they stay on better than shoes

Pascha · 28/01/2021 10:47

Fleece lined playshoes are great for this. They come quite far up the leg and they comfortably go over soft shoes when baby wears them.

ShirleyPhallus · 28/01/2021 10:54

I also put tights under leggings for warmth that doesn’t expose their ankles

TwoZeroTwoZero · 28/01/2021 11:01

Is it something to cover the toes whilst in the pram/pushchair? I used to put my dc in a normal but warm coat and then cover their legs and feet with a cosy toes thing that attached to the pram and you just zipped them in.

Jojo Maman Bebe sell snowsuits with fold-over hands and feet.

This one currently has 12-18 month available.

@TwoZeroTwoZero no it’s for the backpack carrier

I do put tights, leggings, 2 pairs socks etc on! She’s ok now, it’s just I need to get next size up and lots don’t have ‘feet’ in them.

Thanks so much for all above ideas 👍🏼👍🏼

@Pascha they look great. Can get loads of sock layers on under those

I’m so out of touch with baby clothes. My next youngest is nearly 9.

Tuppence and Crumble Starwrap. My favourite baby thing ever. Keeps them lovely and cosy with feet, hands and head covered but thin enough for a carrier. They shouldn't really be in a full snowsuit in a carrier anyway.

ThePricklySheep · 28/01/2021 11:30

Some Boden ones have feet like this.

CaramelCup · 28/01/2021 11:36

@DappledThings I’ll have a look.

Why shouldn’t they be in a snowsuit in a carrier?
Do you mean a sling type?

She’s in the full elements (wind, rain etc) in her backpack carrier so needs to be wrapped up!

The Jojo ones are good as they are properly waterproof as well as warm, loads come up on ebay. I bought 2 in 12-18 months (1 for home, 1 for nursery) that were mint condition that I will sell on and get my money back.

Sainsburys do some moccasins for £5 that are handy too as very stretchy over leg layers and socks.

Ah, sorry I missed you said back carrier. That is more exposed. A sling keeps them cosier to you so they have your body heat as well and a snowsuit would be too much. I wouldn't have been able to bend my children's legs enough in a snowsuit to get them in a carrier!

Doyouwantanothercuppa · 28/01/2021 11:42

Joules snowsuits have feet with poppers, so they can be removed if needed.

CaramelCup · 28/01/2021 11:44

@DappledThings yes a carrier.

No she’s pretty ‘inflexible’ once she’s in her snow suit. Shaped like a star 🤣

I walk miles with her and the other DC. Nothing much else to do at the moment!

Years ago when DS1 was little there used to be soft booties called Padders

I think some shops still do something similar, they are a soft bootee usually made form corduroy/denim with a soft liner. You used to be able to get them up to at least age two in size
