My daughter is in the process of being assessed/diagnosed with autism. We are actually at the end of the assessment process and waiting for feedback/ potentially a diagnosis.
She has been kept in school nursery for her usual half days as she is on their SEN register.
My other child is in primary school with no additional needs. (They extend their offer to siblings of SEN children so as not to cause confusion and upset to routine or problems between children).
I am having a lot of trouble getting my daughter to leave the house to collect older sibling, she is refusing to put shoes and coat on sometimes removes clothes and kicks off massively. She just wants to relax after nursery and is very tired. Believe me when I say, when she won't leave the house, she really won't!
My mum has been helping me out by either sitting with her while I go to school or collecting my older child.
My mum and dad live together and my dad is working from home and my mum retired. Neither are high risk and are both late 50's.
I have seen in the news that some schools are taking school places away from children where rules are being broken as they see it as too risky for their staff (completely agree).
However it's got me thinking is anyone from school raising their eyebrows because my mum does pick up sometimes.
Because we are yet to receive an official diagnosis I can't say there is a disability to consider when making a decision to form a support bubble, I'm not sure what else I can do in these situations!
