NABRU sofas

Does anyone have any experience of these? The trust pilot reviews look pretty good.

Looking at getting one for my conservatory, mainly as a sofa, but also fir occasional overnights (my back is awful and I sometimes can’t manage the stairs and end up sleeping on the much too small sofa in the living room, so would be nice to have a longer option!), and I have a few questions.

Do the back cushions come off easily? Is the sofa deep enough to sleep on occasionally? Can’t work it out off the pictures on the website. And, most importantly, is it comfortable?

They seem a really good price and I like all the different options as I can’t find one anywhere else that’s exactly right.

Many thanks!

We got the Lear 4x4 sofabed last March and I absolutely love it, we went for softer seating foam, it's been an absolute life saver for my back. I sleep on it quite a lot Blush It's also wide enough for me and dh to lie together.

The back cushions on ours aren't attached but the back boards pull out very easily.

It also made a brilliant place to hide presents under this Christmas Grin

We bought ours in December 2009 and it's still going strong.
Changing the covers (we got 2 sets) is a bit of a mission as changing the frame bits are tricky.

Thanks :) Sonyhe softer foam is worth it? That’s another thing I was wondering about. I was originally looking at a pull out sofa bed, but I figured if my back is bad enough to warrant sleeping downstairs, I’m not going to be up to pulling out a bed and really need something I can just lay down on. I was looking at getting spare covers, so worth knowing I’ll probably need an extra set of hands to change then!

*so the softer foam is worth it? That should’ve said!

We’ve had one for 5 years and are really happy with it. We visited their showroom before we bought it as I wasn’t sure about buying one but trying one out put my fears to rest. We have an 8 seater, corner sofa with a mixture of the softer and firmer cushions. I have a bad back and find sitting in the firmer cushions gives me better support. They’re definitely wide enough to sleep on. My niece bought one last year after seeing ours.

I've just posted a review today for our Nabru sofa. It was ordered and delivered pre Christmas. We went for a big corner sofa in the cord fabric and we love it. Loads of space for us all to spread out. We opted for the standard cushions and they're firm but not rock hard. I've fallen asleep on it many times! I honestly can't fault them and wish I'd used then before buying our other sofa which quickly lost all its shape within 2 years...

Excellent! I’m glad they’re good as I really like the look of them. I was initially interested in an IKEA one, but the reviews are rubbish, plus the NABRU ones are better priced.

Meant to add that they also do sofa beds but the reviews aren't brilliant for those so, given the choice, I'd stick with the sofa only.

Ooh has anyone got the storage trays that are an added extra? I can’t see a picture of them anywhere, but I like the idea

It’s ok, I’ve found the pictures now :)

@mycatsbetterthanyours we tried one of the sofa beds in the showroom and it was very uncomfortable. The sofas themselves are much more comfy to sleep on.

GuidonianHand · 27/01/2021 22:53

I have one bought via ebay, so I don't know what the foam is. It's great as a sofa and to sleep on. The backboards just slot out but you don't need to do that to sleep on it. Taking the back cushions off (easy - like big pillows) makes it wider to sleep on but not really necessary.

However, it may not come apart easily as I got a piece in the wrong place when I last moved it. It's got so jammed in I fear that it's permanent now.

TheCanyon · 28/01/2021 09:05

Ours is a sofa bed, I've never slept on that though the dc have and never complained, the mattress isn't as thick as our old one right enough. The sofabed part also weighs a fuck tonne, not easy to try build on your own.

My only regret is that we should've got a 5x4 or smaller bed as we got the extra wide sofa bed and it comes within a couple inches of the corner/other seats so can't fit my big feet in when the beds down!

40somethingJBJ · 28/01/2021 10:36

I’m definitely going for just the sofa, not the sofa bed as I just want something I can lay down on if need be, plus it’s adequate for the odd overnight guest (although I’d more than likely give my bed up to any guests and sleep downstairs myself). Just need to decide on colours now!

Maybe get the low arms option if it's not a super long sofa. Dh lies across the long side and I get stuck with the arm shorter side, def need two cushions (cheap ones) to not feel the arms.

We got ours in Lisbon teal, the swatch colour is much more realistic than the pic that comes up when it's selected. It totally changes colours based on sunlight etc
