Community staff nurse

Looking for advice.
Currently in manager role, office based, very little patient contact
A bit fed up.
Early 50's, very unfit, also have bad back and neck, from 35 years of nursing!!
I have been offered a job as a community staff nurse. Money will be comparable as I will be working weekends, which I dont mind. No real change to terms and conditions.
So... any community staff nurses out there, do I want this job ?

Depends on the team, I love my job and my team how ever the challenge is immense ( like everywhere else in the NHS).

In 'normal' times the job is fantastic however you do need to have a degree of physical fitness, much of the patient care is on your knees or bending over a ( non height adjustable) bed, or carrying equipment in and out of houses. It's not the 'easy' job it's purported to be!

It is very hard physical work.

That's the part of the job that worries me !!

I was a community staff nurse for about 10 years. It was a really busy caseload, I loved it and loved the team but it wasn't easy.
On your knees doing bilateral leg dressings is quite a physical task. Visiting patients with pressure ulcers and requiring dressing can also be physical and as daft as it sounds getting in and out of your car multiple times a day can also take its toll.
I left when I was around 40 to do something new and I knew I wouldn't have managed to keep up the pace until retirement age.
