Anyone here have “thin” blood?

My dad went for his Covid vaccine (yay) and while he was there he happened to scratch his ankle and my mum said it kind of wouldn’t stop bleeding for ages.
The nurse asked if he was taking blood thinning medicine but the only thing he takes is stuff for asthma.
He’s 74, in good health, no other health issues at all apart from asthma which he’s had for about 15 years and only really comes on when he has a cold. He’s slim and has a healthy diet and is always on the move. One of those wiry older blokes.
Does anyone know what could be causing his blood to “run” and whether it’s ok that this happens?

Did they advise him to up intake of vitamin k or anything? Does he take painkillers? Some of them can thin blood, can't remember offhand if it's aspirin.

It's best if he asks for a quick tel con with his doctor.

Get his clotting and platelets checked. I wouldn’t be worried at this stage

I had thrombocytopenia when pregnant - your blood stops clotting properly. It's diagnosed by checking your platelet count. It can happen as a result of viruses as well, I vaguely recall.

I seem to always bleed for ages when I get so much as a paper cut. My bloods (taken for unrelated issues) have always been fine, though!

Obviously seek proper medical advice for reassurance though.

Thanks so much everyone - I’ll tell them to check with the Dr but it’s reassuring that it doesn’t ring alarm bells!
He doesn’t take any painkillers either.
