baby wipes

I have to fold the wipes over many times to avoid getting shit on my hands because they're so thin. It doesn't take me long to run out. What brand do you use if you don't have this problem?

How about using vinyl gloves like nursery staff?

HobnobPlease · 23/01/2021 22:00

Would you consider reusable fabric ones like Cheeky Wipes? They just do sooooo much better a job!

I used water wipes when my dd was first born and they are fab but expensive (no tearages ever). Now use huggies pure which are thick and i havent ever got poo on my fingers, they have a good wetness and are cheaper than water wipes.
The only other wipes i have tried using are Lidls own brand wipes and they are rubbish, flimsy and barely damp!
Which ones do you use?

Metallicalover · 23/01/2021 22:02

I love my reusable wipes! I have the cheeky wipe boxes.
I do use Aldi's biodegradable wipes to clean the initial mess of a poo and then use a cheeky wipe.

happymummy12345 · 23/01/2021 22:04

We only used pampers when ds was little. Now we use Tesco ones and they are brilliant

Theotherrudolph · 23/01/2021 22:04

Pampers. Biggest and thickest I have found, at least of the

1950s1 · 23/01/2021 22:06

Not sure if you've heard of them but went to lidls and got lupilu baby wipes for a change and they're horrible. I'm just trying differen't brands. I tried them myself (my hands) and felt my skin burning even though they claim to be for sensitive skin

I also founs huggies very strong.

Baublebox · 23/01/2021 22:08

I like Morrisons yellow ones. They are extra sensitive, reasonably thick and wet but not too wet.

Lifeinaonesie · 23/01/2021 22:09

Cheeky wipes, so much better than disposables

IamChipmunk · 23/01/2021 22:10

We always used Huggies pure.
Now they are bigger and wipes r just for sticky hands and faces, Aldi extra sensitive (dd is fussy about any wipes that 'smell funny'!)

Isababybel · 23/01/2021 22:11

Just to add, i buy my wipes in bulk on Amazon and im pretty sure it works out a bit cheaper than buying from a shop

Cissyandflora · 23/01/2021 22:11

We use huggies. They’re my favourite because they’re strong.

shittingthreeeyedraven · 23/01/2021 22:12

Cheeky wipes are good but expensive. I cut old flannels/towels to make my own reusable wipes. They last forever and just bung in the wash with my nappies. You can pop them on a rinse cycle on their own and then a hot wash if your not using cloth nappies

More waste- just what the world needs
zigaziga · 23/01/2021 22:15

Cheeky wipes here too. Moved over after a while with baby no 1 and literally never bought a disposable wipe for baby 2 at all they’re so good.

MarshmallowsOnToast · 23/01/2021 22:27

Oh my god, the lupilu ones are awful. Flimsy & not even wet.

MIL bought us a load to use after we'd finished our supply of our normal ones. Did one nappy change & rushed out to buy more of the usual. They don't wipe poo off, just slightly spread it around. It was horrendous!

The ASDA little angels blue ones (sensitive) are the best (and lowest priced) ones we've tried. Prefer them over most of the big brands.

I think they work out at 0.7p per wipe, the same as the Lupilu ones.

Lemonysherbet · 23/01/2021 22:29

I started out with water wipes but £££. I've tried to many types and have stuck with Huggies since finding my finger didn't go through it... Nothing worse than baby poo stuck under your nails

Terracottasaur · 23/01/2021 22:32

Reusable wipes! So much sturdier and clean so much more effectively. I much, much prefer them to disposables.

Another vote for cheeky wipes here. Clean brilliantly, smell lovely if you use water with a drop of lavender oil on them. Still going strong on second baby.... in fact I still use them on the 8 year old on the odd occasion!

DinosaurOfFire · 23/01/2021 23:08

Huggies pure or water wipes if you are after disposable, otherwise just normal moist cotton flannels work well too.

EatingAllTheCookies · 23/01/2021 23:18

Aldi mamia.
Never had shit hands lol. And I have a baby with allergies and explosive poos.
6 in a box for under 3 quid.

EatingAllTheCookies · 23/01/2021 23:21

And found they're the only ones that don't irritate baby's skin.
I tend to buy 3 boxes a time so have spares and less Trips to aldi as its further away.
