Anyone own roller blades as an adult?

I'm seriously considering roller blades!
I need some joy in my life and think they would be great for whizzing after the kids on their scooters.

Mad?

I bought a pair of in-line rollerblades whilst in New York in 1996, used them quite a bit in Hyde park but that ended after having a DC in 1997, they hung around in the loft for about 10 years.
They were great fun but I used to skate as a teenager so I was able to do it.
