English grammar - any good resources for a struggling student?

I feel a bit stupid as I have done English to degree level, and have studied linguistics too (have a joint degree), now doing a course that requires a lot of knowledge about English grammar and I’m lost .

Have to do grammar parsing so analysing sentences - splitting them up into clauses, phrases, and working out what words are used eg determiners, prepositions, knowing what a copula(?) is, indefinite article and understanding tenses eg past, present, perfect progressive etc, fronted adverbials, all sorts .

I’m totally lost as have never yet studied this before - I left school in 2009 and I don’t think grammar was ever taught beyond the very basics .

If there’s any decent sources of help out there would really appreciate it ! I’ve got a textbook, workbook from uni, and been told to use BBC bitesize (!) but totally lost!

If anyone has any experience or advice would really appreciate it - everyone I’ve asked says they’ve never heard of it before ...

Ok, so, weirdly I’m going to recommend this book: www.amazon.co.uk/Help-Your-English-Step-Step/dp/1409314944/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=carol+vorderman+books&sprefix=carol+&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1611423260&sr=8-5

Ahem. It’s the one we had in our English department office. Very simple and clear.
