What is this creature I have just found on my kitchen floor?

Just found this on our kitchen floor, thought it was a bit of fluff at first and swept it up but then realised it was wriggling! Anyone know what it is? Hopeful it’s just a caterpillar and not anything horrible...

Its not a carpet beetle, they are hairy. And its not a leatherjacket, they are really fat, can give you a nasty pinch and die of dehydration when they are out of the ground. I don't think its a mealworm either.

Pretty sure it's a caterpillar. Looks like one of the species that feeds underground on roots - goat moth or swift moth, maybe
