Just as the title says really! Dd1 has discovered a love of reading after getting a series of five nights at freddys books for Christmas, shes whizzed through them. They are short horror stories and she's keen to explore more in that genre.

I've read lots over the years but my muddled brain can't remember what ones aren't too scary. Shes previously read Darren Shan vampire hunter and enjoyed that. Im still traumatised from reading Stephen King late at night 😂

So fire some books my way so we can start a list to order from the library!!

@Pepperlypue

Darren Shan books are fantastic. My favourite was ‘Bec’ when I was young.
Oh I loved Bec! You've just brought back so many memories for me!

Some of Point Horror are (or were recently) on Kindle Unlimited. I had a good nostalgia trip. I think they are a bit date now unfortunately.
Are they? Thank you, that's rather made my day! I still have a few in my shame bookcase (nestled in among my Sweet Valley High and Babysitters Club collections Grin) but I'd love to re-read more of them

Christopher Pike was my absolute favourite author from the age of 11 until I graduated to Stephen King!

Seems my recommendation for Kindle Unlimited Point Horror might have been premature... Most seem to have been removed. Some are more £7!

The Miss Peregrines School for Peculiar Children series is really creepy, although not horror as such.

Oh my god I loved Point Horror. The Invitation and The Beach
House were my favourites. I’m tempted to get some second hand and reread them now!

I still have my point horror hardback 1,2 & 3 compendium books.

Sweet valley high was all on kindle unlimited a few months ago, I had a right good time re-reading those and pretending I was young again.

The girl who loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King, might fit the bill. It's mildly scary, fairly short and the main character is a young girl.

I have the full SVH and SVT collections. And still read them occasionally!! Did you read Sweet Valley Confidential? It was dire!

Second The Enemy series - Charlie Higson, my children loved them, I did too!

Point horror! There is a blast from the past... LOVED them as a pre-teen!
