Water has entered my flat
Only by the front door, luckily. My flat is part of a little row of what look like houses, but there are two front doors to every "house" with one for the downstairs flat and the other for upstairs. I'm upstairs (thank fuck!) so you step in and are immediately confronted with the stairs up. The square of carpet down there is thinly covered and the rain's just picked up again. I'm worried about my downstairs neighbours, as well the houses around me that aren't attached to us. Our flats are part of a supported accommodation scheme and the careline is in the communal laundry room which I now can't access. I've called the council and they've said emergency services are around and know the situation but I can't see or hear anything on our road. What else can I do?
We back on to a road which goes under a railway line and that stretch floods frequently, but I've never seen the wider area, or my street like this. It's fucking awful!! The roads are like canals, fully submerged and now houses are definitely being breached.
I'm in Warrington, which is kind of depressing at the best of times(!)
Probably no one can offer any advice, but I'll take some sympathy if there's any going! I have significant mental illnesses (hence living in supported accommodation) and I don't think I'll cope with being evacuated due to my severe OCD. I think I'd rather stay trapped upstairs with the water around the front door. Is that fucked up? Does flood water pose a health risk?
