Would you complain?

And would it likely make any difference?

The school across the road from me has new security light long that shines directly into my bedroom. Really very bright lighting, I also have a lamp post just outside the window, but that doesn't bother me at all. If they moved it just a few inches lower it wouldn't be a problem.

I'm not one for making a fuss and I used to work at the school and am scared of know the business manager. She's unlikely to say "OK we'll get it moved", although the head is more reasonable. Obviously, if I can persuade them to agree, there'll be a cost, tight school budgets etc, but isn't it reasonable to expect a school to consider their neighbours?

Would you bother trying to get it moved? Do I even have any right to expect that they might?

You could ask them to reangle it .

Yes. Contact the school governors if you get no joy with the business manager. Or your local councillor.

Yes I would contact them, explain the issue, and ask it be moved to a more suitable height/place. If there wasn’t a satisfactory resolution I would report as light nuisance

Yes I would and yes, it should.

I wouldn’t initially complain but I would raise it with school as may be easily resolved.

If they didn’t make an effort to resolve I would start a complaint.
