Ocado - what do you buy?

After lockdown I'll move from Ocado, but for now I need the regular delivery slots I'm offered so I'll have to stay.

I'm really struggling to find something to buy every week. Because the M&S range is so ready meal heavy, things to make actual meals from aren't in abundance and are often out of stock. For example I wanted a bit of pork shoulder this week and it was either Ocado (OOO) or Packington for over 3 times the price. When they had Waitrose at least you'd get a few more options.

Can you tell me of anything that you but regularly from Ocado please that's half decent and am I missing any M&S gems? All I've discovered so far is their pizza.

I'm sticking with Ocado just until this pandemic calms down too. Miss so many Waitrose products. Really haven't been impressed with any M and S stuff. The only things we've liked are

  • bavette steaks
  • hot cross buns
  • Percy pigs!
  • Oakham chicken thighs
  • roast in the bag chicken
  • Cornish cruncher cheese
  • bao buns

I've also noticed Ocado own brand range has shrunk. I went to buy some purée the other day and there isn't an own brand anymore - just 2 imports. I also used to love their butcher counter but that seemed to go before they switched to m and S. Plus where have their Italian style meatballs own brand gone?

The price of my shopping has crept up too so I would rather switch to Waitrose but I'm sticking with Ocado for the jolly hog sausages, thoughtful producer chicken, packington pork and Jackson estate Chardonnay as I can't get these in Waitrose. We've done a few orders in lockdown with Waitrose and it's all been good except I can't see any way to request a refund using the site if for example the packaging has broken unless you take it into the store which I don't want to do right now.

  • Paleo Foods non-grain granola
  • Black Farmer free range corn fed drumsticks & thighs
  • East End canned goods, very cheap: chick peas, black eyed beans

I'm really struggling to find products that are not OOS - anyone else?! Dog food seems especially tricky to get.
