I am really confused about the morning after pill

A friend of mine has had unprotected sex. She took the morning after pill 7 hours later. On checking her period online calendar, she realises that the day she had sex was the day of ovulation. On checking Google, it says the emergency contraceptive pill will not work.

Is this correct?
Thanks

MAP prevents about 85% of pregnancies which wouid otherwise have been expected.

Yes, disruptting ovulation is its main action

Unfortunately it's really unlikely that your friend will know to the hour when she ovulated (or not), so thus has to remain a maybe.

It has some useful secondary effects (making uterine lining less propitious for implantation, and maybe altering mucus, thus making a more hostile environment), but obviously they are not as strongly protective as disrupting ovulation.

It also can muck up cycle quite considerable. So if no sign of AF in 14 days, then she may want to POAS
