Made a minced beef, onion and mushroom pie last night - was LUSH. Had it with mash and carrots, the kids wolfed it down.

Not necessarily consciously but being at home during the day has allowed me to cook things I don’t usually bother with. More casserole type dishes that go in the oven for a couple of hours. I guess they do tend to be more traditional, also more wintery, comforting dishes.

I made a coottage pie the other day. Delicious.
Tomorrow I'm doing roast Chicken with two veg and mashed potatoes.
Family favorite here is Pork chops with apple sauce, potatoes and veggies.
We prefer the basics, Dd doesn't like any sauces for some reason.

I love it, though to be honest it's how I've always cooked. Lots of slow cooker casseroles. I'm also trying not to buy imported fruit and veg and shopping at the farm shop. So lots of cabbages, parsnips and cauliflowers. I like spicy food so just add spices for a twist.
Slow cooker beef tonight, in a spicy gravy with kale, carrots and roast potatoes.

I've just made apple crumble for the first time in about 20 years.

Have rediscovered a love of toad in the hole a few years ago, but I have always regularly cooked traditional meals. They tend to be pretty easy for a start.
