Live along the River Thames

I love looking at google maps exploring different places I would like to live. Does anyone here live on the river Thames? Parts of it look lovely and it makes me feel like I would be living in a story book. Tell me your views please.

I used to live right by the Thames Estuary in Essex, and would regularly get woken up by fog horns but loved seeing the huge container ships literally glide past my window. Can't explain why but it felt magical.

Ah rosetylersbiggun that's my dream life you have there! What gorgeous views, and perfect combination of being in the city, having a calm view of water, and lots of light Envy

I grew up in Leigh-on-Sea, so still the Thames, but felt like the seaside. I've missed the seaside all my adult life. We're hoping to move to the coast again soon. I quite fancy becoming one of those tough old ladies who swim every day of the year.

DD1 lives in a houseboat at Hammersmith Bridge. It's joyous! Such beautiful views up and down the river, and wonderful sunsets. And seals! And the odd rat but that's fine. I keep threatening to move in with her. I think she'd toss me overboard,

We've inadvertently moved along the Thames over the last 20+ years and feel so lucky to see it each day.

Started off overlooking Teddington Lock and gradually moved outwards.

Now on the edge of a town, living about 3 houses down from the river. Gets really busy at times, we always know when the weather is good just by looking at the number of cars parked outside on our normally quiet road.

Timeforatincture me too! (Well Hadleigh but what's half a mile up a hill
between friends?)

This was New Year's Day 2020 just along from the cockle sheds, Estuary mud in all its glory.
