Anything by Mo Willems or Oliver Jeffers

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 17/01/2021 20:57

3 and 4 year old Gdcs loved Poo In The Zoo.

ThorFull · 17/01/2021 20:59

Everything @Glenthebattleostrichjust said.

Mine are now 4 and 7 and the youngest will listen along to risks Dahl. He still prefers bright picture books but likes the enormous crocodile and we’re on George’s marvellous medicine.

The ten little... books are good too. Helping the little one with his reading as well, recognising the number words and he can manage short words like zap.

ThorFull · 17/01/2021 21:00

Roald

WisestIsShe · 17/01/2021 21:06

The book with no pictures by B J Novak. Never fails to make them laugh!

Invisimamma · 17/01/2021 21:13

My 6 year old loves the 13 Storey Tree House series, Diary of wimpy kid series and Roald Dahl.

He previously enjoyed horrid Henry series but is past those now.

snowone · 17/01/2021 21:14

Currently reading Harry Potter to my 6 year old, she loves it. My 2 year old loves all things Julie Donaldson at the minute Smile

My 3 year old loves:

Anything by Oliver Jeffers
Ditto Emily Gravett
Hairy Maclary series by Lynley Dodd
Can't you sleep, little bear? (And others by Martin Waddell)
Kipper (but almost anything by Mick Inkpen makes him laugh like a drain)
Old Bear stories by Jane Hissey
Frog and Toad by Arnold Lobel
Elmer series by David McKee
Little Red train series by Benedict Blathwayt
Spot (all of them!) by Eric Hill
Thomas the tank Engine

Many, many others, but those are the ones that spring immediately to mind.

Just bought my 3 year old a set of ladybird fairy tales. He is loving them

AndThenTheDayBecomesTheNight · 17/01/2021 21:44

The Little Red Train books are also nice for the younger end of the age range.

There are some really nice Puffin anthologies - Five-Minute Stories and Fantastic First Poems are two big and durable favourites here.

BettyAndVeronica · 17/01/2021 22:12

'The book with no pictures'.

It's always a winner in this house 🙂
