Book recommendations? No clue what to try next

I like crime thrillers and fantasy historically. But I’ve also tried to branch out into contemporary fiction the last few years. Not a massive fan of chick lit, though nice enough for a quick read every now and then.

I don’t have much time for reading and my concentration is shot at the moment so I struggle with more high brow stuff. I battled through Americahna recently and didn’t really enjoy on the whole, though liked it in parts. Also tried to read captain correli’s mandolin which I’ve wanted to read for ages, but just couldn’t get into it.

Now I’m faced with a sea of books with no clue of what to choose next.

What have you loved to read?

What books have you got to choose from?
I've found crime fiction such as the Shetland series easier to read recently.

Eve Chase's novels are good - try Black Rabbit Hall.

I was going to look to buy second hand online, so all of them to choose from I suppose!

C J Sansom's Shardlake series is crime and history together. Fantastic.

Jodi Taylor's Chronicles of St Mary's is a fabulous series, lighthearted and fun and a historical element.

Rory Clement's Tim Wolf series is one I live too, historical spy series but not too heavy.

A fantasy recommendation - Spinning Silver is great

William Boyd - Restless or Brazzaville Beach?

A few days ago I read my first Angela Marsons book - Deadly Cry (crime thriller based around the Midlands). I quite enjoyed it and would certainly try another.
I like the Robert Galbraith books (JK Rowling).
Also recommend Ruth Ware books.

I’m currently reading Blood Orange by Harriet Tyce which is really good. I also recommend any of the Shari Lapena books.

James Patterson - the chapters are short! Good for low levels of concentration.

Also, Marian Keyes is fantastic
