Morning Mumsnet :) What are you up to today?

I've been up a while, I'm listening to the "dripdripdrip" of the snow melting outside while I have my coffee.

I'll get dressed and get the washer going shortly, then I want to bake half of dd1's birthday cake today. If I get chance I'll do more crochet too.

Dd2 wants to do some of the craft kit Nanna gave her for her birthday. I thought it was crystal growing but she's convinced it's a paint your own money box 🤷‍♀️ we'll see.

Dd1 only ventures out of her room for food/drinks these days but may be persuaded to do...something with us later on.

I think I'll make a curry for tea. Probably a glass of wine or two with it as well.

What about you lot? Anyone doing much today? :)

Got up, did my morning yoga class, fed 3/4 pets, brought cup of tea and mini superfood flapjack back to bed. Hope to get out for a walk later and dd is 13 tomorrow so do some prep for her. Sd is 27 on Thursday and myself and dd decided to make her a smoothie and waffle hamper ( her bf got her a nutribullet and a waffle maker ) so we did up some recipe cards for 2 smoothies and 2 waffles and will try and get some smoothie glasses, napkins and all the ingredients and put them in a hamper for her. Will probably Hoover and wash floors and pick up a shop too. Hopefully get a nap in somewhere as well.

We woke up to it snowing; now it’s just soggy.

DH has done the washing.

We’ve tidied the playroom, now we need to sort out all the broken up Lego (which is why I’m procrastinating).

DS (7) is still in his PJs. Probably won’t be fussed about going for a walk, so we’ll play football and have sword fights at home.

I’m going for a walk to the river to feed the birds later. And I’ll make time to read. I’ve got 3 books on the go.

Thai takeaway for supper.

Painting the spare room which is being turned into a second (small) living room. It’s on a different floor to the main bedrooms and isn’t needed as a bedroom so I wanted to repurpose it. It was a “junk” room for about a year, full to the brim with all sorts, so it’s been a challenge! Quite excited to crack on with it as I’ve bought some lovely things to go in it once it’s done.

Just had coffee in bed while watching death in paradise. Need to get up and clean the kitchen. Then I'm going to my mum and dad for dinner and will probably stay the night (my bubble).

At least it has stopped raining here...

DS is about to turn 5 kitty and it is in the last 6 months really that our weekends have become relaxing. Hang in there!

Almost midday and I'm still in bed
I do have my laptop with me and I'm preparing some work for the next two weeks. I should probably close the MN tab soon... This afternoon I need to write a bursary application for a course I'm doing and send various documents to my supervisor (docs I haven't even started to draw up).
Moved houses a few days ago so un the evening I will continue my unpacking ritual whilst I watch a film, and I need to do a quick hoover and clean the bathroom before going to bed too.
I need to get out of bed.

Having a lazy Saturday morning, in my pj's and onto my second coffee. DC still in bed!
Taking the dogs out for a walk at lunch time with DH then come home to make a steak pie for dinner and may make a choc cake for pud.
Nothing too strenuous today 😊 I was supposed to be sorting wardrobes out but I'll leave that until tomorrow.

I am meeting a friend outside for a socially distanced walk. Neither of us dare to take a hot drink but I have bought us a rocky road each.
She lost her dad recently and needs to chat and so we feel it is required for mental health.
Then going food shopping nearby
Then probably usual home and jobs cooking maybe listen to a podcast trying to do something a bit different.
Trying hard not to think about the longer term restrictions and affects on my DD’s as I just want to cry today.
Can’t believe I would ever feel worried and guilty about meeting someone to have a walk.

Had a much needed lie in. Now on 2nd coffee before getting showered and dressed. Thankfully, the house is all clean thanks to paying DD to clean this week, as our cleaner is isolating. But I need to tackle the laundry pile which has reached critical mass. So, need to pop out for laundry detergent and groceries.

This afternoon my best friend and I are researching hotels in the Italian Lakes for our hedonistic, adult only holiday this summer, as both our DH's turn 50 on the same day this year.

Having an uber easy dinner from Cook, then we have committed to starting a new TV binge. Have narrowed choice down to:

@TheWoollybacksWife I'm busily making Among Us crewmates for dd1 & have just (well, last week) spent my birthday money on yarn for a Taylor Swift cardigan for dd1, and some yarn cakes for something for me...I'm stuck deciding what to make for me though 🙄

Was up earlyish with 18mo Ds, had a nice zoom with my mum. Sent dh and Ds out for an hour so I could do the last bits of cleaning before a house viewing at 1, so I got to listen to a podcast.

Hoping to go for a walk, find somewhere doing takeout hot food and go to a park this pm, then make a picture to send to my mum for her bday. Dinner is tagliatelle, masked singer later!

It's miserable out. Perfect day for a dump run. Fast accumulating crap from home DIY projects.

Then home for a nice long bath.

Fuck all. Another tedious lockdown weekend and no, I dont want to go for another bloody walk! Lying on my bed waiting for bedtime then will do it all again tomorrow. Mental health shot to shit.

I had a lazy start to the morning, drinking tea while the youngest 2 dc played (eldest 2 are at their dads til teatime).
I oversaw the dc tidying their rooms and had enough of a tidy up of the rest of the house that I could unleash the robot hoover. Then I took the dog for a walk for an hour accompanied by dc on roller skates.
In a minute (or 30) I’ll make lunch and put some laundry on. I should complete a job application (deadline is tomorrow) but after a week of homeschooling I’m not really motivated, plus I’m pretty sure I don’t stand a chance so I may put it off until tomorrow...
Other than more laundry and watching The Masked Singer tonight (DS7 loves it!) I’ve not much planned.... oh, also need to bath 2 guinea pigs but will wait until DD is home. I may walk to pets at home to pick up more hay for them in the meantime.

Just been for a muddy dog walk... wasn't intended to be muddy but another walkers big dog jumped me I got to fuss the dog though so I don't mind.

Had salmon bagels for late breckie watching some married at first sight will get a wash on shortly.

We had a lie in then stripped our bed

dh drove me to get my covid jab ( front line worker)

We chatted about renovating the house as we had a big flood over new year so insurance company is involved and bathroom is being redone and kitchen ceiling

Cleaned out food cupboards together with dd3

Put second load of 3 of washing on

Made lunch

Now chilling before making dh birthday cake for tomorrow

DD is doing homework and dh is remaking our bed.

I'm shattered now

Lovely start to day - snuggled in bed with DDs whilst watching Bride Wars - loved watching their reaction to it more than the film itself
Then lovely bubble bath, face mask, pamper.
Quick lunch and out to village for a walk and drop of my DHs lunch which he forgot.
Now back having a cuppa trying to motivate myself to do an hour house blitz.
Rearranging DD2s bedroom when DH gets home - need to move her bed away from window so she's warmer.
Pizza and wine and kids movie then DH has a Zoom call with friends so I will escape to watch Zero Dark Thirty - just finished The Looming Tower and am a little over invested at this point (fuming would be putting it mildly).

To be honest I left out the 5.30 am start and endless taking it in turns to keep ds entertained!!

S0CKS your post reminded me I wanted to put my coat in the washer today so it's dry ready for school on Monday - a dog left me some muddy footprints on my way there last Weds 🙄 I'd totally forgotten about it!
