Not so snug...sofa

I’ve just bought a snug sofa and I’m really not finding it comfortable 2 days in. They have a 30 day free return which I’m considering but the reviews all seem so good I don’t know if I’m being unreasonable in my comfy demands...has anyone else got one of these? What do you think?

Hi there, I never got a referral code when I ordered mine as I used my blue light discount card. If you know anyone with one or are in the NHS you get 10% off

That's great @Dazedandconfused10, - I just ordered one last week!! Got so sick of waiting!

@goodinacrisis

Thanks for all replies. We went for it and really like the sofa. I've had it a month now and am very pleased - it's a keeper!

If anyone wants a referral code to get a few quid off then PM me and I'll send one over...

@goodinacrisis - grateful for a code too please! Thanks a lot :)

I couldn't recommend Nabru highly enough. We had our first one for 10 years, 2 children grew up on that sofa! Over the last 6 months we felt we needed a new one as it was looking tired, so we have just purchased a new one and they're still as fab as always.
Nabru are excellent quality for a great price, they're easy to build, very comfortable and durable.

Hi, this is really useful, I am also thinking of getting a snug rebel sofa. Please could someone send me a referral discount code as well? Thanks very much!

The rebel is quite hard and uncomfortable. It’s certainly not a lolling sofa. It I did find the big chill really comfortable. It’s not as nice looking, but certainly much nicer the sit in. The rebel is too high, so it’s more of a sit on sofa, than a sit in.
altiara · 02/06/2021 09:29

I ordered the big chill, but found them all comfortable when I tested them out.
Can PM you a code @Polly201928

Polly201928 · 02/06/2021 09:32

Thanks altiara that would be great!

Bielbsss · 30/06/2021 18:25

Seriously considering buying a Snug sofa & am wondering if they are comfortable to sit on - I’m very light & want something super soft, you see.
Would appreciate any thoughts. :)

I got the 'rebel' and it isn't super soft, it's quite firm but is softening over time. I like it firm though so it works well for me. Maybe the other options would work better for you...

Hope that helps!

Flowersinthefireplace · 27/09/2021 21:59

Don’t buy one. They’re shit

gbstell · 28/09/2021 09:31

How come? 🤔

Flowersinthefireplace · 28/09/2021 10:24

Uncomfortable and badly made.

@addicted2spaniels

As a rule of thumb, you need a solid hardwood (beech) frame, and a mesh top spring unit. These are your most important components, and will last at least 20 years of wear. Anything else on top (cushion fillings) are fairly simple to change/replace but with good quality fibre or feather you'd expect 10 years of wear at least. And choose a fabric with a high martindale test (rub) - something over 30,000. Polyester blends tend to be the stain resistant ones, whereas you'll pay more for natural fibres like cotton or linen.

Something like Tetrad or Duresta will last for decades, and you just recover every 10 to 15 years. Or go to a local upholsterer who will make you one similar at a lot less cost (which is what we do!). Failing that, buy good quality second hand and pay to recover. When we refurbish, we strip to the frame and replace everything upwards.

Local upholsterer quoted £1850 to recover 2 x 2 seater sofas. I get that that’s what it costs and it is a craft skill, but it’s hard to justify at that price. I’m normally all about repair and reuse, but that was really basic fabric too.
NewMumma89 · 11/03/2022 11:16

Really uncomfortable returning them now - stiff and hard and the cushions fall forward there is no sinking into these sofas.
My mum bought the next Houghton sofa and that is super comfortable and cloud like. I’m going to put up with the long delivery wait and order one of these.
Very disappointed in the snug
