As above I know there is so much of these but just looking for some support really from people who knows what it's like!

Homeschooling 🥺
Is driving me mad!
I'm stressed, don't want the kids falling behind others in their class, I've had a headache all week from screens and I've got massive guilt for my 4 year old who is only in primary 1 so very minimal work, she's kind of been left while I help the others!
I have 5 children (3 SC that love with us full time) all having to do home learning and a big range of ages, they all need support, maybe because of no classmates to bounce off and no actual face to face teaching by the teacher their struggling. Their happy to do the work but not really managing to do it alone so I'm having to offer ALOT of support. My DH works full time long hours so I'm on my own. I'm self employed so unable to work atm due to having the kids at home so losing a lot of money as well as gaining ALOT of stress!! They all have tablets which aren't great with google classroom! We have 1 laptop and I have a decent iPad which is easier. So juggling between them all and trying to split the time equally between them! It's so tough! Anyone else struggling?

I ended up emailing the teachers to say we were done. Not finished, just done! I explained about ds8’s missing video and ds7’s complete meltdown and said we may do the work another day, but most likely not.
I actually got an email back from one teacher saying that ds had worked really hard and so had I and thanking us, which was the last thing I expected.
I’m in awe of you by the way: you still have the energy to bake AND the willpower to not pour a glass of wine! Cake

Howmanysleepsnow · 20/01/2021 19:21

@noteabagsleft hope you’re doing ok!

@Howmanysleepsnow what a lovely email to get! I think you need to give yourself more credit, it sounds like you’re doing a great job even if it doesn’t feel like it!

Baking means cake and cake is the only thing keeping me going at the moment! 😂

Things aren’t going great here, dd1 and 3 still awake, dd1 reading in bed and dd3 curled up on the sofa. Normally I’d have taken her off for a cuddle in bed but dd2 lost a tooth this evening and is awaiting the tooth fairy! Aaargh! It might be a slow morning tomorrow...

Oh dear! Hope dd1 has another lie in in the morning and gets some rest. Good luck for today!

I am absolutely drained. Caught up from yesterday, completed today (pretended I didn’t see the geography that was allocated to 4th January but set today). 15 e-learning modules (for me) and some accounts (for DH).
Is it the weekend yet??? For the first time in this interminable (series of) lockdown(s) Saturday is worth looking forward to!

OddshoesOddsocks · 22/01/2021 19:13

Oh my goodness well we’ve had a disastrous couple of days school work-wise.

Barely anything done, meltdowns galore, minimal sleep and we’re all absolutely drained! We’re well and truly in survival mode now and if that means baking rather than literacy then so be it!

And I’ve broken dry January. Dp bought home a bottle of red last night which I opened with zero hesitation!

Happy Friday everyone!

@noteabagsleft hope you’re doing ok!

Tough day today. DS7 didn’t finish as his teacher didn’t post work until 2.30 (technical error). He’s done 2 lots of maths but felt the pressure and didn’t complete English or RE. He wants to do English over the weekend as he worries about not completing work and getting in trouble, but is happy to leave RE.
Shame, as I wanted a weekend off! Oh well...
Have a good weekend!

OddshoesOddsocks · 23/01/2021 11:00

Bless him, that’s good that he’s motivated to do it but not so great for your weekend off!! Hope he gets it done quickly!

Howmanysleepsnow · 23/01/2021 15:58

He seems to have changed his mind! Apparently we’re going to do it on Monday instead. Can’t say I blame him...
Have a good weekend.
