DD skin

My 11 year old DD has starting getting spots. When I was young I had bad spots and eventually needed long term antibiotics to sort it out, and I think her skin is going to be like mine. I don’t want her to have her self confidence knocked by acne.

Have things moved on, is there anything I can do to help her? She has a skincare routine of OY cleanser and toner.

Thanks in advance!

I loved Liz Earle cleanse and polish and then some toner on a cotton wool pad with some tea tree oil.
Not eating too much greasy / sugary food and lots of water.

Does she have acne OP? If so, don't be afraid to speak to the GP. Ours has referred us to Dermatology and whilst it hasn't completely gone, it's so much better.

Try lush, they do loads of great products! I use the T-Totaller bar on mine and their moisturisers are great. X

I suffered with acne all my life.

As a teen I was put on tablets from the doctor, tried everything under the sun.

Best thing, is Freederm.
Especially they're overnight repair cream. I was lazy when younger, so I used to have it on my bedside table and put it on before sleep. No rinsing off required.

It takes approx 2 weeks to notice the difference, it won't work over night, but keep it up and you'll see an improvement.

Thank you all!

Make sure you don’t go overboard with products. I found having minimal products to be best with myself and my DD. Unfortunately it is a blend of trial and error to find what works for you.

Have a look at Nip & Fab they have a teen range

Lush ultra bland worked really well for me in early 20s

When I was younger I used Liz Earle to some effect (also didn't use toner) along with a prescription antibiotic ointment

I would stop using the toners

Is her skin type oily or combination?

Take her to the GP. There are lots of different options to try.

I'd go with a gentle to skin face wash only, initially. I have extremely sensitive skin and by far the best solution has been simply to wash my face with very mild soap and warm water, pat dry, and then apply a small amount of moisturiser. The more you mess with the skin, the more it seems to fight back. I use distilled witch hazel on spots if they're particularly painful, but other than that, keep it as simple as possible.
