Ok, so heres mine

Wake up feeling exhausted after being up most of the night on MN amongst other things.
Pop to the loo
Breakfast is normally a couple of slices of toast, coffee from my new coffee maker, today I choose Bold Americano, which immediately uplifts me as the aroma fills the kitchen. I also have a glass of fruit juice and a actimel (something in my head tells me it will fight off that nasty bug thats doing the rounds)

I take breakfast up to my bed and snaffle it. Then I have sneeze after sneeze (normal for me every morinng after eating) I am working in my bedroom as my DDs BF is now working from home and has a lot of calls from solicitors and zoom calls so I leave him with some privacy while I prop myself up on the bed with my laptop. I have desk I bought specifically for working from home, but its cold out of bed as I have the window wide open to keep the room ventilated.

My DD pops her head in my room and asks me if I have seen her UGG boots, I say no, so she asks to borrow mine, then notices I have 4 UGG boots in a row...ahem (but in fairness I did buy them in error, I didnt realise I ordered 2 and as she is the same size I gave her the others) she then puts them on and leaves for work, she works in a nursery.

I then sit and think about all the work I have to do, while catching up on MN and writing this pointless thread.

Have a good day everyone.

@AliasGrape

Mat leave - so very different to my working routine. Also very much dependent on what’s going on with my 5 month old - she sometimes sleeps till 8, sometimes is awake at 5 ready to start the day. 7 is average ish so I’ll go with that.

6ish - wake up (naturally, not alarm), go for a wee. Get back in bed tired after being woken up by either my baby or my ancient dog or both at various points in the night.

Dog will start moaning at some point for a wee so I ring DH’s phone to wake him up (he’s in the spare room as DD still cosleeps at least part of each night). DH gets up, carries ancient dog downstairs as he’s so ancient he can’t do stairs anymore, sorts dogs medicine breakfast etc, makes us both a cup of tea and makes DD a bottle.

7ish - DD wakes up, DH will change her nappy, I feed her whilst DH makes us another cup of tea. DH then starts getting ready for work (at home) and is logged on to computer for 7.30 and I usually play with DD with her toys/ read books/ sing - basically however I can amuse her without getting out of bed or expending too much energy.

8am - DD restless so I get up and sit her in her little chair thing in the bathroom whilst I shower and get ready for the day. She enjoys this as she likes to look at the bathroom tiles and finds them quite fascinating. Back in the bedroom and get dressed, make up on if I’m bothering that day (rare) whilst chattering away to DD and keeping her amused. Then get her changed and dressed for the day.

8.30 downstairs with DD. Sit her in high chair, take dog out in garden for a quick wee, take my vitamins, wash and sterilise bottles, empty dishwasher - usually put music on whilst this is happening and turn it into a bit of a song and dance show for DD. Make myself a cup of tea and piece of toast. Sit and eat it at the table with DD in the high chair next to me. She’s not started solids yet but we’re getting used to the high chair and being at the table. Also usually have a banana.

8.50 ish - go into the living room and play on play mat with dd.

9.15 - depending on weather either wrap dd up and put her in pram or sling for a walk. Actually I’ll make a tea in a travel mug first to take with me. Try to persuade ancient dog out for a walk also - rarely successfully. Wander the streets or go to the park until dd falls asleep. If weather is really awful or I think it might be better later in the day skip the walk altogether and try to get dd to nap on the sofa. If successful then stick an episode of whatever I’m currently watching on Netflix (she’ll only contact nap so great excuse to sit on my arse).

I feel exhausted reading that, although I like the napping on the sofa with DD if its bad weather. My late DF used to have a knack with the DGC we said he hypnotised them as when he helped look after them, they would go into a deep sleep, I should have hired him out to stressed mums.
