Those people who said "fuck it, we're having the best Christmas ever" ...how was it?

A lot of people before Christmas said because 2020 wasn't much fun and a bit of a shit show they were going to do things like get their kids everything they asked for/big presents for people etc.

Did you do that? How was it? Did it make Christmas better?

Not a dig. I promise. Just genuinely hoping that it was as good as you hoped.

High five fuckingcrustybread love your response.
I had Covid for Christmas, got my positive Christmas Eve so isolated in my bedroom until 2nd jan. broke my heart hearing DH take our 3 children for their tests and they were so excited hoping they were positive so they could spend Christmas with me 😥😥❤️
So the special Christmas I planned to make up for such a shit year still went ahead. Only our youngest was positive, so he got to spend Christmas with me, whilst dd and ds1 FaceTimed and chatted through the shut door when I was well enough.
It certainly wasn’t what I planned, but I think the past year has taught us things don’t always run to plan.

Had to cancel my parents as DS, 21, was exposed to someone positive just before Christmas and had to isolate at home. Again, we normally cook for 15, and love it, but actually it was a lovely few days. Just the 5 of us, no stress, no drama. Lots of lovely food and drink, playing cards late at night, lots of Baileys and laughs, reminiscing about family holidays. I missed my parents but they were able to go to DB's and were fine. It was a very special few days.
