What is everyone planning for 2021 holidays?

Exactly that, what are you planning for 2021 travels?

I'm intrigued as a friend mentioned they have booked several trips abroad from March onwards, which did surprise me.

Planning to stay in the UK. Perhaps I am being overcautious, but can't see us even being able to travel around the UK by Easter.

Hopefully camping. We normally go in August every year. If campsites don't open we will have a week in my Nan's massive garden rules allowing

We moved last years holidays to this year.
Not convinced any will actually happen

I have Crete booked for May that I changed from last year and we’ll do a week in England in July. It’s my silver wedding anniversary in the autumn so would love to book a big trip for that but we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

Nothing...although that's not unusual as I haven't been anywhere on holiday for about 10 years, I prefer weekends away. Having said that I'm due to go overseas in 2022 for my sister's wedding.

Alicatz66 · 12/01/2021 18:24

I have Greece booked for June, but only because it was cancelled from last year .. I'm not going to book anything else and I don't fancy a holiday here on plague island ! I've had enough of being stuck here .. going to save my money until holidays are a nice experience

DazedandConcerned · 12/01/2021 18:25

Egypt in May, July and December.

Can’t wait.

NotMrsTumble · 12/01/2021 18:28

Moved last year's USA holiday to the same dates this year (was mostly to visit family, with a few days sightseeing thrown in). I was cautiously optimistic in Sept, but now suspect it will be cancelled. Easter break to cabin /Lodge thingy (again rebooked from last year). Looking less likely we'll even get that at the moment.. Much of it is refundable/can be moved to later dates, though we'd stand to lose the cost of some internal USA flights unless they let me reschedule them.... I knew this when we rebooked, but I reckoned we all needed something to look forward to.

Roselilly36 · 12/01/2021 18:28

Not planning any holidays until the pandemic is over.

3rdwave · 12/01/2021 18:30

Nothing - don't want to tempt fate!

notalwaysalondoner · 12/01/2021 18:31

Booked a week in Cornwall in May and a week in September. We go to the same house every year and you have to book with the owner in the first week of Jan so we thought it was worth the risk. They'll refund us if we can't go due to restrictions.

Normally I wouldn't book anything as I'm flexible with when I take holiday from work, but I'm due in July so don't want to wind up with lots of holiday and not having used it to enjoy my last baby-free months, so may try and do some more last-minute UK breaks. I'm not optimistic about being able to go abroad without a vaccination or before I'm too pregnant. Although flights are still running even if they're advised against, I know people who have travelled in the last 3-4 weeks so it is possible even now.

Windowsill Bay

Icanseegreenshoots · 12/01/2021 18:35

Booked cornwall for Easter and June and overseas holiday in August. All being well we will both be vaccinated by then.

I am hopeful! Much more hopeful than I was last year.

I would not be keen to travel before then, the stress would probably kill me if covid doesn't.

vodkaredbullgirl · 12/01/2021 18:36

Nice place windowsill bay Smile

Whiskysoda · 12/01/2021 18:37

Holiday to New York booked for December. Fingers crossed.

OhToBeASeahorse · 12/01/2021 18:37

None. DD is 3 months (DS is 2) and 2bh unless its close I find going on holiday with small children more stress than it's worth so I suspect we wont actually bother this year.

Kobanidaughters · 12/01/2021 18:39

Tentatively planning Hawaii end of March for DH’s 40th but we live on the west coast of the US so not as big a deal as coming from the U.K.

Otherwise I imagine much like last year it will be the odd in-state weekend away and some camping

Titsywoo · 12/01/2021 18:43

I have a holiday booked at Duinrell in August which was moved from last year. I really hope it goes ahead. It will be a nice treat for DD after she has finished her non-GCSEs (or whatever Ofqual are planning for Y11!) it's been a stressful year for her.

Avondklok · 12/01/2021 18:46

We have Lisbon flights on ice from last year for a girls trip. We were hoping for May but I'm now thinking September might be more feasible. I am currently eyeing up a trip to Italy but won't book anything just yet. Would love to see my family in U.K. but the way things are at the mo, it's the last place I want to go.

ParkheadParadise · 12/01/2021 18:47

Would love to make it to Cyprus later this year.
We have a house there. Can't wait to get to the beach, drink in hand.

Timeandtune · 12/01/2021 18:52

Have made no firm plans whatsoever. Tentatively going to stay in a friend’s Highland cottage in May. If it happens, it happens.

ZenNudist · 12/01/2021 18:54

IOW in June, worried its going to get cancelled. Cornwall in August, hopefully be able to go there as we went last year. Wales in October. I figure by October we could feasibly go abroad but my friends are going to Wales so I will go with the crowd.

I miss my overseas breaks but I'd rather get in on UK holidays whilst theres lots of availability for the nice family rooms rather than have to wait to book overseas and then not being able to go anywhere.

I do have an option to book abroad last minute at start of the school holidays but I might just go to the lakes for a few days then.

maddiemookins16mum · 12/01/2021 18:55

Nothing. But keeping an open mind for two weeks somewhere warm in Oct/Nov.

wonderstuff · 12/01/2021 18:59

Wales Haven site booked for Easter, big extended family week in Somerset in May, Florida booked for August. Everything crossed for us being able to do them and good weather for all three too.

BillyAndTheSillies · 12/01/2021 19:01

We booked Disneyland Paris last March for May half term but doubtful.

Other than that, nothing. Similar to pp's, I'd usually have three or four planned by now.

Hoping things are a bit more back to normal by 2022 holiday wise.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 12/01/2021 19:06

Portugal booked for late July.

I don't see why we won't be able to go by then. A lot of people will be vaccinated, and holidays went ahead last summer so no reason to think they won't this summer.
