Which flooring do you prefer? 2 pics enclosed

So sorry for my messy kitchen first of all! Couldn't be bothered to tidy

Anyway it's between these two for my new karndean floor. Can I ask which you prefer and why? And if neither then please say

We currently have pale grey large tiles which we don't like

Thanks

The 2nd one because the colour of the 1st one looks patchy (not sure how else to describe it sorry!)

olderthanyouthink · 10/01/2021 16:41

Second, the first looks patchy and weird

Bluntness100 · 10/01/2021 16:41

The first, the colour variations are much more eye catching and will also not be as dark in the room,

The lighter one would go best with your kitchen, but personally I'd go a bit lighter again.

MolyHolyGuacamole · 10/01/2021 16:42

Second! Cleaner look

Smidge001 · 10/01/2021 16:45

There's not much difference in colour between the two tbh. As first poster said, the 2nd one is preferable out of the two you've shown, but because it isnt weirdly patchy.
May be worth comparing another that is even in tone, but lighter, so we can compare two distinctly different shades.

BettaSplenden · 10/01/2021 16:46

I prefer the first. The second looks glum

pandora206 · 10/01/2021 16:46

Second one . The other is too dominant but I'd go lighter unless you have lots of window light.

FlamingoAtTheBingo · 10/01/2021 16:47

The first one does look patchy I know but in reality, it isn't so much. (We have quite a few sample 'planks' and it doesn't look like it appears to here!)

We did consider going lighter but our kitchen is so light anyway we wanted some depth. It's also going throughout the whole downstairs - bar the living room

Second, I am not keen on the patchy/burnished look of the first, I’d also think of going lighter as a PP suggested

FlamingoAtTheBingo · 10/01/2021 16:48

@pandora206 we have so much light in the room as french doors at other end and loads of light so we wanted a bit of a contrast

I second the 2nd.

notangelinajolie · 10/01/2021 16:49

2nd one. The 1st is too busy.

CompleteBarstool · 10/01/2021 16:49

The second one

userxx · 10/01/2021 16:51

2nd one. The first looks a bit leopard print to my dodgy eyes.

Shorthairlady · 10/01/2021 16:51

Definitely the second. What is the name of this as it's exactly what I'm looking for.

cushioncovers · 10/01/2021 16:51

2nd

FlamingoAtTheBingo · 10/01/2021 16:52

How about this one? Wellington oak ..

2nd

RoseMartha · 10/01/2021 16:54

I prefer the second

FlamingoAtTheBingo · 10/01/2021 16:58

@Shorthairlady it's karndean vangogh range

Undies1990 · 10/01/2021 16:59

3rd one - oak

teezletangler · 10/01/2021 17:00

I like third one which you've just posted.

It has more depth than the second but overall it's a lighter effect than the first one, which seems dark and muddy.

justanotherneighinparadise · 10/01/2021 17:00

2nd one. Not keen on the first.

FlamingoAtTheBingo · 10/01/2021 17:01

@teezletangler I think I agree with you. Looks more natural and warmer which is what we are wanting
