Where would you live?

We're in a big city at the min but would love to move somewhere with good walking from the doorstep - we love a good rural cottage holiday somewhere scenic. So obviously all the usual touristy areas have been on our rightmove search but where else should we look? We work in education so I doubt we will struggle for work wherever we go and without a mortgage to pay we don't need to worry too much in the short term. North, south, east, wherever - inspire us!

North east coast

Suffolk as long as you avoid the tourist traps of Aldeburgh and Southwold!

Warwickshire

Yep, specifically Warwick for me. Lovely town centre, excellent schools and nice parks

Some good suggestions here and thank you for the Rightmove links - very nice! I know I don't want a listed house though, my dad owned one for a while and now I know how much bespoke windows cost Sad

There only 2 of us so I don't want to go too mad with a big house. Friends and family mostly Midlands. One outpost in Devon.

Some lovely places around the south downs in Sussex. Bonus if near the coast and Brighton for art, theatre and nightlife....
