I just can't believe it and I'm a bit gutted to be honest. Any advice on how to deal with this?

Dont change the subject. You're clearly out to defend Trump and what happened the other day. You think we're all stupid?

Just tell us a couple of names. Far left extremists in positions of power tweeting freely encouraging violence. You said they were there. Who are they? Otherwise why did you lie about it (we know why)

I'm not out to defend Trump where have I said that? Again why are you telling me what I'm doing.

I made it clear that irrespective of who the president is..

Like I said I'm not going to engage with people who go out of their way to make up crap about me.

If you behaved ina civilised manner and addressed in such a way then I would happily answer your question but since you continue to cast wrong assertions about me then I have every right not to.

Just like in real life, ill only carry on a conversation with someone who is polite but continue to make crap up, say I'm lying and a Trump supporter with zero evidence to back it up then no I simply won't waste any of my time and energy on that person.

Inciting love in Twitter:

“The Islamic republic has reported more than 1.2m cases of the virus, including more than 56,000 deaths.

It comes after Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, banned the importation of US and British-produced vaccines saying they were “completely untrustworthy”.

“It’s not unlikely they would want to contaminate other nations,” he said in a tweet.}”

blueangel19 · 10/01/2021 02:03

all cyclingmad You are right to not engaged any further. You have been very civilised and make your point very clearly.

Gabite · 10/01/2021 02:14

I smell an alt...

Gabite · 10/01/2021 02:17

Yes that famous lefty liberal Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Gabite · 10/01/2021 02:21

No I said it should be implemented fairly thats what they should be doing

Or what? They can ban anyone for any reason.

DeeCeeCherry · 10/01/2021 03:02

Whats clear is that corporations hiding behind policy for one person and letting others continue on

cycling right wing frothers have free reign on Twitter, FB etc. Racism and right wing racist groups are plentiful on FB. So before telling people to "look it up" (the favourite line of YT conspiracy theorists at al) you could try in the first instance coming from a place of truth.

Trump wasn't "silenced" until he encouraged what happened recently. Up until then he was fine to spread his filth.

Facebook, Twitter etc only acted (aka backtracked) when they began to be called out for not stopping Trump's nonsense on their platforms. Their
motive is damage limitation and trying to save their reputations, that's all.

Trump had free reign to support and encourage the Capitol debacle via social media.

Your "Left Wing Extremist" is a figment of your imagination. Trump, QAnon etc have caused harm and chaos and if you had an example of a comparable Left Wing Extremist, you'd say it.

cyclingmad · 10/01/2021 04:45

Sure okay whatever but even some reporters aren't falling for this bs but thats okay you carry on walking into dystopia with your head in the sand, dont come crying when we end up like China. Police state has already started

Stating that Twitter used Trump as clickbait is hardly an earth-shattering revelation. Nor is stating that Twitter (and other SM companies) can remove anyone they wish from their platforms. They are private corporations, they have the right to do that. Zuckerberg could ban anyone who mentioned custard creams if he so desired.

Oh look more evidence of the hypocrisy of using their proxy for one person whilst letting others free speech..genocide of course is clearly okay.

Awe.you don't need me to tell you names, plenty of information if you open your eyes

Xerochrysum · 10/01/2021 08:16

@1FootInTheRave I never said that people who believes conspiracy theory has mental illness. I believe it's to do with defence mechanism, like denial of reality or to combat extreme anxiety in this uncertain world, hence I said MH issues, rather than calling those beliefs "this shit".

cyclingmad · 10/01/2021 08:21

Ah those pesky conspiracy theorists who said China was hiding the truth about coronavirus and wow have you seen the news, missing data and refusing to let WHO in to investigate...I mean if you got nothing to hide then how does that even happen Hmm

Icanseegreenshoots · 10/01/2021 08:25

I think you are being silly op.

I have plenty of friends that vote very differently to me, that do things I do not agree with in the name of entertainment, eat meat, watch reality TV shows and then talk endlessly about them and so on.

The world is made of so many different people, views and religions. To end or distance from a friendship over a difference of opinion is quite frankly ridiculous.
I like the fact I have so many different friends that share their sometimes opposing views. You will end up with no friends if you expect everyone to comply with your vision of everything! Up to you, but your lack of tolerance worries me more than your friend's political persuasions.

If you don't like her views, steer her off the subject and talk about things you both enjoy and life, simples!

I always think conspiracy theorists as more of a certain type of personality rather than anything to do with the actual conspiracy in question... Like, I've never met a conspiracy theorist who only believed in one theory.

It does seem to come from a place of wanting to be aligned with a cause that makes them feel radical, victimized and intellectually superior.

Still, I suppose people have been doggedly believing in made up stuff that there's absolutely no evidence for for millennia - there wouldn't be religion otherwise!

saraclara · 10/01/2021 08:41

All of which bear no resemblance to being a conspiracy theorist.

cyclingmad · 10/01/2021 08:59

@Toilenstripes

Why do freaks like cycling always use the word ‘irrespective’ ? Why would you not take in to account that it’s the fucking President of the United States who is spouting hate and inciting violence? That’s the point. And if he wants a platform for spewing he can call a press conference, or did that not occur to you?
Because there are other world leaders allowed to spew violence, genocide and hate but haven't had their accounts shut down but ya know whatever lets just ignore that shall we. Doesn't fit the narrative so well.
WithinAForestDark · 10/01/2021 09:00

Wow. A real live conspiracy whack right here. Never seen that before so watching with interest. I know someone like this and she also has only one stock answer to every intelligent question - "Look it up" Grin

Yeah okay, how dare I just question one or two things hardly makes me a conspiracy theorists.

But that's what your being fed to do, anyone who dares to question is now labelled a conspiracy theorist. Better go so that tonthose journalists who are saying the say thing about why other world leaders are allowed to carry on with their accounts when they incite hatred and genocide but only trump gets shut down right.

blueangel19 · 10/01/2021 09:04

all Toilenstripes why people like have you to insult to make a point. Says it all really.

WithinAForestDark · 10/01/2021 09:05

Please tell me some of these world leaders who are currently inciting hatred on Twitter or Facebook. I want to go look.
Don't say 'Look it up' because that will make you look as dumb as a cow pat.

WithinAForestDark · 10/01/2021 09:06

@blueangel19 - you will find tagging works much better if you use @ instead of 'all'.
