I am absolutely completely and utterly overwhelmed

Just needed to put that somewhere.

There is more that needs doing and thinking about and care than can be possibly managed. Something's got to give, not sure what and don't have the time to work out what.

So strung out I end up doing nothing and then berating myself.

If anyone has any ideas that might help I would be most grateful.

Can you employ someone?

Get an urgent doctor's appointment on monday. Not least because, to rule out anything worse. This needs to be more than a bunch of mumsnetters and yourself, diagnosing you.

The doctor will know what to say and do and prescribe something if necessary.

Also, it then means you are able to tell people you cant do x y z for the time being, because the doctor advised you that that would be unwise.

hth

I took your advice and did not work this weekend. Lots of cleaning though.

I already have employees - I run a social enterprise, this is part of the overwhelm as feel very responsible to them, to keep the business on track for their livelihoods as well as being incredibly in demand at the moment for what we do.

That's good you didn't work op but it doesn't sound as though you had much of a rest either! I'm not sure a change is always as good as a rest!

I totally understand about the responsibilities you feel to staff though. Equally, you wouldn't want your an individual member of your staff to burn out either so I think you are allowed to pull back a bit on grounds you are setting a good example, if not for yourself? You can't do two jobs forever. Some provision has to made made (even if temporarily) to fill the position of your sick colleague. Is there a specific reason why hasn't this been done to date?
Are you able to delegate a bit more?

Wishing you well Flowers

You dont intend to stop working.
Your choice but why?
What or who compels you to work until you literally drop?

Need to earn income - immediately and longer term and I'm a company director. Work delivers massive social impact and is my passion/purpose.

Am resolved to work a 4 day week next week and see if I can make that the default. DH handling the DCs homeschooling next week.

Sounds better.
There is a saying somewhere, isnt there, that no one goes to their grave thinking they should have spent more time at work.
