What to do with half finished tin of Quality Street?

Any ideas? I am presuming I can't give to food bank as tub of Quality Street is not unopened. It is half full as there are loads I don't like. It seems a waste to just bin them.

Can't think of any friends or family who like QS either!

I've a shit load of orange and strawberry cream ones left over 🤢 asked my OH the other day which ones are his favourites hoping he'd say them. No he doesn't bloody like them either! Seemed to have got more of those than anything else on the box. Why can't they do a shed load of the purple one instead!!

Lockdownlovernotfromliverpool · 08/01/2021 14:18

Shove a few in a disposable glove and hang on your gate?

Weedsnseeds1 · 08/01/2021 14:20

Dishwasher vodka?

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 08/01/2021 14:21

Oh I miss the office at this time of year (have WFH for a decade now...)

Half a box of Quality Street here, half a Christmas cake there, a few wee Heroes on the way back from the loo... happy days.

steppemum · 08/01/2021 14:24

I love all of those.
Happily take them off you.
All our QS got eaten. It seems that between us we like all of them.

QualityStreetxoxo · 08/01/2021 14:26

Loving all the ideas. I work from home, so sadly can' t offload them on work colleagues!

@robinshire

Suggest you seek some kind of support for your distaste of Strawberry creams OP! They are my favorite!

In the bin! (like mine)

1940s · 08/01/2021 14:45

Make brownies with them poked on top and offer to neighbours

MiaowMix · 08/01/2021 14:46

Can't you just give them to neighbours?

Deadringer · 08/01/2021 15:11

Do you ever get mice? Save them for the traps.

QualityStreetxoxo · 08/01/2021 15:13

@Deadringer

Do you ever get mice? Save them for the traps.
No mice at present. Just a guerrilla mole! Don't think the mole will go for the chocs!

@QualityStreetxoxo

Wish you lot lived near me! All the toffee, orange and strawberry creams are left!
Those are the ones I love
BeyondMyWits · 08/01/2021 15:22

As someone on here said... If you can't pass it on, it goes in the waste or on the waist ... made me think twice about the Xmas leftovers so I am thankful to them whomever they were

Lottie4 · 08/01/2021 15:23

We had four tubs given us this year! Haven't even eaten half of one yet. Two of them came from work places, so can't really take them in there. We have lots of elderly neighbours here, so I'm sure the toffees/fudge won't go down well with false teeth. It's such a shame as people gave them to us with the best of intentions.

They're not essential food, but do you think the foodbanks would like them so everyone coming in for food can have a few as a treat?

S0CKS · 08/01/2021 15:28

I literally just eat the strawberry and orange cream out.
Mine had a weird off taste this year.

greensnail · 08/01/2021 15:28

I gave ours (leftover bounty from celebrations) away on a local Facebook group - they were very quickly snapped up!

MessAllOver · 08/01/2021 15:39

The only ones I like are the orange and strawberry creams.

Mrsemcgregor · 08/01/2021 16:01

Melt them all together and see what that’s like?

wishingchair1 · 08/01/2021 16:13

Leave them out for delivery people/ post/ bin etc

JerichosPenisInADeadChickHat · 08/01/2021 18:05

Melt them and freeze into ice lollies

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 08/01/2021 18:21

Bin.

user1471538283 · 08/01/2021 22:57

We will soon be in the same boat. I only like the creams. Usually I take them into work and they get eaten but obviously not this year.

Titsywoo · 08/01/2021 23:01

Same here - got half a box of Roses and Heroes left and a load of Latvian chocs my sister sent me (she lives there). Noone wants them in our house but it seems such a waste to chuck them!
