Second house insurance claim in 6 months. Will the insurance company honour another claim?

Back in july we had some fairly substantial damage from a leaking pipe in the bathroom. Our insurance company has agreed to pay for redecoration to our dining room and bathroom which they estimate will cost almost £3000. Hoping that will start within the next few weeks. Yesterday we noticed a discoloration to the wallpaper in a completely different room (living room), nowhere near previous leak. Dp noticed that the wallpaper near to the skirting board was starting to curl at the edges and lift up. He carefully removed it and it turned out that the plaster and lining paper were damp underneath. There's a heating pipe recessed in the wall leading to a radiator so we can only presume there's another leak. I've contacted my insurance company who are visiting on monday. God knows what will need doing...I appreciate I need to read the small print but just wondered if anyone had had a similar course of events. Will they pay out ?

If there is a problem that is covered by your policy, they will have to pay out. You are still covered. The first claim is irrelevant to the second.

Your next renewal premium might not be too pretty though.

Lol you're right. Gone up by £20 already..

The insurance company I work for don't have any limits to the amount of claims that you can make against your policy. That's what it's there for after all Smile

The premium will most likely be quite a bit higher next year though but you can always shop around for a better deal.

Wowser, £3k for redecorating 2 rooms.

(misses point of thread).

Re £3000 the dining room ceiling will need replacing as it has a huge stain albeit now dried out, wallpapering, joists checking under bathroom floor due to possible fungal growth and then flooring replacing in bathroom. Agree it's a good amount. Only decorated 2 years ago Angry

A friend parked his car outside his work. The window cleaners' extended metal ladder fell sideways right across the roof of his car.

About 9 months later, exactly the same thing happened again.

That was a difficult one to explain to the car insurance.

@Scarby9 can well imagine...

What sort of made it worse was that many of the workers at that place parked where he did, and there were other cars parked alongside both times. But both times it was obly his car that the ladder hit.

Yes you can claim. A bird fell down our blocked chimney and we had to have half of the wall ripped out. A year later to the day, another one fell down and we had to do it all again - and get the chimney reblocked.

I've had to claim twice on my car insurance within a week. Felt a bit embarrassed calling them the second time but they paid out.
I'm assuming its similar for other insurance, they'll pay out of its covered and you'll probably just see an increase in premiums.
