Nurseries attached to schools question about 15 hours funding

For school nurseries do you have a choice over how many days ?
We would qualify for 15 hours but only wanted to send our dc in for 3 half days a week not 5 (each session is 3 hours) is this something that is possible ? I wasn’t sure I thought it would be but now worrying

We were able to, but that was some time ago (DD is y11 now!)
I started at 2 sessions and then gradually built up to 5 over 5 terms.

Yes I think we need to start with less and build up so maybe 3 sessions the first then then add another day for second and third term as he is extremely sensitive and has a few issues so I’m anxious not to overwhelm him and to keep some days at home to do what we usually do if that makes sense

Yes. As long as you don't exceed 10 hours a day and as long as the nursery accepts the funded place/the hours you want to do in one day you can do that.

In the school my DS goes to you are only allowed a place in the nursery class 5 days a week. The pre-school will allow any combination of days. I think it is fairly common for teacher-led nursery classes to require 5 days a week.

I would imagine it completely depends on the nursery and what availability they have. 3 hours over 3 days is fine in the sense you won’t go over 15 hours, but they may require full days if they can’t fill the other half day session for instance. But this is completely separate from the funding and more to do with demand for places and staffing.
