City mums recommend a stroller please?

DD is 6 months and we've just converted her Babyzen Yoyo2 from the pram to the stroller. However she hates it as it's world facing and cries every time! I also don't like how I can't look at her face. I know she'll get used to it but I'd prefer to use a parent facing one for now whilst she's still small. We will keep the yoyo2 for trips abroad (when we can again) as it fits as cabin luggage.

We live in London and once pandemic is a bit better we plan to get back on public transport which is why we chose the Babyzen yoyo2 in the first place. Can anyone in a city / London using busses and the tube recommend an alternative stroller (pushchair) which is compact and easy for city life, but is also parent facing? Or better still can be parent facing or world facing?

Thank you

Bugaboo Bee. It's spendy tho.

BabyPolarBear · 06/01/2021 16:06

There are so many bugaboos @BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz I get so confused - is the bee the most current? I think Babyzen was about £600 all in... will check bugaboo prices.

I was the exact same as you, hated the Yoyo once it was turned into a forward facing buggy. She just seemed too small! We were thankfully given a cousins' Joolz pram that you can flip the seat forward/back. Tbh I wouldn't necessarily recommend that particular one as it was chunky and weighs a tonne but it has done the job. Worth noting: now she's 15m old she much prefers being forward facing and being able to see the doggies in the park so you might just need a short term solution.

Thanks @frenchtoast88 good to know! Felt like a bit of an over protective mummy but it did feel like a very sudden change and it was horrible not being able to comfort her without stopping and walking round to the front.

@BabyPolarBear haha that's how I felt like an overprotective mum but it was right at the start of lockdown and I just needed to be able to see her! I think if I was in the same position again I'd get a second hand parent facing one to see us through from 6m to 12m then go back to yoyo. I'm now 6 months pregnant with number 2 and the Joolz one is so heavy I can barely push it up a hill!

Icandy Raspberry?

Second hand Bugaboo Bee. They are really well built so a second hand one usually still has plenty of use in it. Ours took years of all sorts of punishment (I sat in it in the park, when DC2 was a baby we had DC1 riding on the axle, in the shopping basket !! etc) and was still fine at the end.

Procrastatron · 06/01/2021 16:32

Londoner with a bugaboo bee here too. The value is in having it from birth as it is £££ but agree with getting a second hand one without the bassinet.

BabyPolarBear · 06/01/2021 16:33

Great thanks everyone! I've found a bugaboo bee online so I'm going to order it! SmileSmile

I would get bugaboo bee. It’s relatively compact. The newest model is 6, but more stores will have 5 in still online so you might get a good deal. Otherwise there’s loads secondhand

Hovverry · 06/01/2021 21:19

Are you American? We call them buggies and babies here sleep in cradles then cots rather than bassinets then cribs.
Just fighting the creeping USing of our language.

doadeer · 06/01/2021 21:27

I was weighing up bugaboo bee vs yoyo and it was one reason I went for the bee.

I only moved him world facing about 14m when his legs got too long! My son really likes it.

Fiddlersgreen · 06/01/2021 21:29

@hovverry who decides what they are called?
I worked in nursery retail for 18 years up until last November and we used the terms prams, strollers, buggies, carrycots, bassinets.
The words people choose to use also varies in different regions of the U.K. so nothing to do with being American.

OP, the bugaboo bee is perfect for your needs. Only a little heavier/bigger than the yoyo but with the option for baby to face you

I loved my Bee.

whoami24601 · 06/01/2021 21:42

A bit left field, but we have a mama's and papas Amarillo flip. Absolutely love it and DS is 2.3 and still rear facing!

redamancy · 06/01/2021 21:47

We had an icandy raspberry and it was great.

eliniatko · 06/04/2021 18:00

Can't it be that the slant/not upright and small-in-size seat that doesn't recline fully might be a problem with a 6-month-old? I can imagine it is not as comfy for her.

The Armadillo Flip is a good idea, also space-wise. I would also think of a Joie Versatrax if not wanting to spend too much.
