Help - icy cold feet when working from home!

I sit at my desk for hours on end everyday and my feet get incredibly cold. My house is warm so that's not the issue, I think it's just not moving. I'm really busy so not sitting down is not an option!

I have a blanket over my legs, and wear warm cashmere socks with real sheepskins boots. If I work until very late (like last night) my feet get so cold I can't áy go to sleep. Showering would work but I don't want to wake my family up.

I'm starting to daydream about electric feet warmers, like a common granny. Please help.

Sitting for long periods and not moving is really bad for your health. Equivalent to smoking.
It’s a recognised health concern and in other countries, and more progressive businesses here, standing desks are becoming more popular.

If you are using a laptop, could you pop it on a counter/sideboard and send emails standing up (much more efficient than sitting according to research), and if you’re on the phone get up and pace up and down while you talk. Or just set a timer and get up and move.

Have you got a sleeping bag? I found using mine under my desk really changed how warm I felt and was something I already owned. I'm in online meetings most of the day but having it up to my waist doesn't show. They really trap the heat in but still give you space to move about a bit.

Make sure to stretch your feet every few mins, have a quick walk around whenever you can- even just for a minute.

Using a sleeping bag sounds like a fantastic idea! I have a small electric heating pad which I could also place inside the sleeping bag for extra warmth, if needed. I can't believe how excited I'm getting about the idea 😂.

I used to laugh at my grandma soaking her feet in hot water in winter... it serves me right!
