Plaster allergy?

Does anyone suffer from contact dermatitis after using plasters? What happens to your skin?

Recently when I remove a plaster (or body tape) there tends to be a red mark left in the shape of the plaster. The majority of the time, it fades quickly without any issue; occasionally it may stay red for a couple of days and lead to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Does this sound like a sudden plaster allergy or not?

I always have a reaction to plasters , it used to be only the fabric ones but I get a reaction to all plasters now although it’s worse with the fabric ones . I get a raised , itchy area in the shape of the plaster.

Lots of plasters have roisin in the adhesive which can cause contact dermatitis. I've found wilko hypoallergenic ones ok.

I am allergic to most plasters, even hypoallergenic ones. The ones they use in hospital took a layer of skin with it.
I cant use micropore tape because that takes a layer of skin.
Now if my cat attacks me I use breathable plasters but don't leave them on long.
If I vandalise myself worse I use wound dressing and fabric tape and again don't leave it on long.

I get it with some plasters, usually fabric ones if they have been on for a while. I only noticed the problem when I was in my 30’s but that was after a couple of long plastered up injuries.

Rosin could actually be the culprit, thank you @PeckyOwl

I get that too. I used to be ok with micropore, but it happens with that, too, now. Constant removing, cleaning off the adhesive, and sticking on a new bit on a different patch of skin is what I've resorted to. Or a dressing pad held on with micropore.
