Stupid question about exercise books

GertrudeKerfuffle · 03/01/2021 21:50

I'm getting my knickers in a twist with impending home schooling. I want to order some exercise books and not sure which ones to get - A4, but should they have margins? What size ruling for this age? Would the ones with partially blank pages be a good idea? I would be so grateful if somebody could just tell me what to do advise. Also, apologies for such a dull thread and probably putting it in the wrong place Blush

You haven't said what age

My grandsons of secondary age do all their work online. At primary it was a mixture of worksheets and online during the first lockdown.

Depends on the age of the child. I would get a normal marginalised lined A4 pad for older children but find slightly deeper spaced for younger children (with or without margins). I honestly wouldn't worry too much about it as there will be children photographing and sending work in on every type of paper you can imagine.

If it helps, I do lots of ordering at my secondary school. We use a mixture of A4 and 9x7 inch. The smaller size is generally for the younger years. Always get ruled & margin, the ruling size will depend on the age but 6mm is fairly standard at secondary. We also get squared paper ones for maths.

Gah I despair of myself sometimes. Year 2, so age 6-7 Smile

I’d go with margins and a wider line spacing for year 2. A4 is fine. Full pages rather than partially blank by year 2.

Yes get the wider lines for year 2, with a margin. Some have alternate blank and lined pages so they can do a picture.

The CGP workbooks are good too.

Thank you everyone. I'll have a look at the CGP workbooks too.
