Can anyone share their weight loss meal plans?

I really need to lose weight, before lockdown I was regularly at the gym trying to get my weight down, after lockdown and Christmas I have put on about another 3st. I am now nearly 16st, only 28 and want to get it off just now.

My downfall is snacking, chocolate, crisps, fizzy juice.

Can anyone help with their meal plans please to give me an idea of what people eat on an average day?

I don't like fish, eggs or extravagant stuff lol. Love chicken, pork, ham etc.

If anyone could help or give me any pointers it would be great thank you

You have to build a diet around what you like to be able to stick at it and make it your long-term lifestyle. Liking chicken, pork and ham is an excellent start - they’re high in protein, low in fat (if you pick the leaner cuts) and relatively cheap. I always have cooked chicken breasts and a cooked shoulder of pork in the fridge as my go-to snacks to pick at.

Have you a pressure or slow cooker? They’re great for making things like pulled pork; chicken and lentil stews; casseroles; brisket and so on which you can portion out into several days worth of meals. I personally don’t find rigid meal planning particularly helpful, but I do find it helpful to know I have lunch or dinner ready cooked in the fridge to heat up so I don’t end up shopping for things I don’t need.

My “typical day” probably isn’t very helpful because I don’t eat in a particularly orthodox way: I think it’s fine to have - and usually do - something savoury like soup for breakfast, some cooked meat here and there throughout the day and one of my homemade stew portions for dinner.

Don’t make anything entirely out of bounds. If you want some chocolate or crisps, have some. If your problem is that you can’t resist eating a whole bar or bag at once, portion them out into small tubs and once it’s gone it’s gone - you’ve eaten it all, and get the satisfaction of that, but it wasn’t the entire family size thing.

My tip is don’t buy the snacks/ treats
I have 0 will power and if they are in the house I will eat them all

I love my own homemade lentil soup. I add chicken stock cube and whatever vegetables /herbs I like including potatoes. If I make it thick enough (with lentils), it fills me up but doesn't weigh me down afterwards. Oh, and I recommend eating salads a lot. Keep them low fat but fun. Very refreshing but comforting at the same time.
