Hi
Giving my new born baby Aptamil 1 formula.. finding the making it especially at night difficult with waiting 20 min. after the kettle boils and then cool it down it takes so long.. and if I don't wake up before her I have a very unhappy baby... I was thinking about the day and night tommee tippee prep machine but heard it is not advisable..
Any advice ? Please??

I make it in a way that replicates the perfect prep. Every morning I boil some water, allow it to cool, then store it in a clean lidded jug in the fridge. When you need to make up a feed, boil some water and measure a third into the bottle (e.g. 6 oz bottle, measure 2oz of boiling water), add your 6 scoops of formula and shake well, then measure 4oz of the cold, boiled water in a separate bottle and add to the feed (don't just top up to the 6oz mark as the feed wont have enough water in it)

Do it. Best thing we ever bought.
I was fanatical about cleaning ours, took the back off to check the tubes, never had an issue.

We used a perfect prep; worked fine for us. I just made sure I only used the proper filters and kept it very clean. We also made a couple of bottles up in advance, chilled them and kept them in the fridge until needed for night feeds.

Have used a perfect prep with two babies without issues

Perfect preps are great. People talk a load of shite about them.

We used the Aptamil 1 ready made at night time

Nothing wrong with a perfect prep as long as you maintain it properly. You can get them secondhand pretty cheaply too, mine was only a tenner.

I pre-boiled the water like @NannyR. A couple of friends have used the perfect prep but it would have taken up space on my kitchen worktop and been another thing to have to clean.
