...your health and fitness, what would you buy?

In other words I am a big fat fucker and need to change. I have a spare £100, what should I spend it on to help this. I have six stone to lose. I already have an exercise bike

Id buy a Fitbit or a cheaper sports type watch and get moving as much as possible.

Then o might consider a diet app subscription like nook but I don’t know much about them

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 02/01/2021 20:08

I’d either buy some really decent trainers and/or buy some really good quality healthy food to kick off my plan ie. like expensive shell fish so I don’t feel deprived when I start

sparklefarts · 02/01/2021 20:15

Sorry I should have said I have a Fitbit.

I lost two stone earlier this year by making sure I stayed in a calorie deficit. But have slipped snd need a kick up the bum

Have been contemplating things like a blender for fruit and veg smoothies? Or protein shakes? Or some kind of, oh Christ, well anything !

A subscription could work. Maybe Team RH?

Also like the fancy healthy food option. I also have £80 M&S vouchers so that could work

Decent walking boots?

delilahbucket · 02/01/2021 20:18

Some really good trainers and 1000 mile socks to get me outside. I find exercising indoors so boring and a one hour walk somewhere you haven't walked before is great as there's lots to look at.

SandysMam · 02/01/2021 20:18

Good scales with a body fat analysis thingy on it so you can be motivated to see your body fat percentage. So if this number is high it might help you stick to healthy habits in order that lower it.
Or a few weeks of personal training sessions to kick start you? Might be worth ringing up a local personal trainer and asking what they might do for you for £100, many are probably looking for work right now.

BikeRunSki · 02/01/2021 20:21

Running shoes

Fillybuster · 02/01/2021 20:21

Les Mills subscription (around £11/month) - if you search around you can find some 3 month free trial offers which would let you try all the different work outs before you actually start paying. In which case put the £100 towards a gym mat, some weights & some resistance bands.
Good luck!

Allispretty · 02/01/2021 20:24

A Fitbit honestly it will spur you on and you don't need anything fancy to lose fat. Buy a Fitbit, track your calories on my fitness pal but be sure to work out your calories first online rather than go by the standard 1200 as you'll be starving! And go for walks!

Don't buy into any fad fitness equipment and don't believe you need to do heavy hiit sessions to lose weight yes you may want to do this win you've dropped some weight but all you need to do it move and eat less.

Team rh is ok but I found them really rude and unhelpful I also totally disagree with their "only resistance is exercise" ethos. I do know quite a bit about calorie counting etc already though so might be good if your not sure where to start. Think it's about 8 quid a month x

Good trainers (I love Nike metcon)
Good socks (feetures)
Breville smoothie blender
Grenade bars

sparklefarts · 02/01/2021 21:25

Thank you all! Some good ideas to ponder

I’d buy a couple of sessions with a personal trainer.
