Just seen the new RyanAir advert - Jab and Go

Wtf ! Talk about quick off the mark, it sounded so tacky but not sure what else I’d expect though.

Alan Sugar would have a field day with this advert if the Apprentices came up with it 😲

nosswith · 30/12/2020 18:22

Please respond in the only reasonable way, don't fly with them.

WarmSausageTea · 30/12/2020 18:29

I suppose you can’t blame them for trying, but I didn’t enjoy flying with Ryanair at the best of times, so it’s a no from me.

BananaPop2020 · 30/12/2020 20:29

Had the exact same thought, it is tacky and verging on disrespectful (in a way).

Purplethrow · 30/12/2020 21:14

Massively disrespectful, I agree.

What’s wrong with you people? I don’t like Ryan air, but the more the jab is promoted is the better. I agree with the comments that it is your body and your choice. In the future, if a company asks for vaccination before your travel or going to a cinema it will be your choice not to travel or go if you do not want to be vaccinated. Vaccinations are excellent way to protect everyone. In our society and very comfortable lives we forget what vaccines did for us. We eliminated small pox, there is nearly no polio around the world and radically reduced the incidence of measles. Silly people who do not vaccinate their children against measles cause outbreaks in the long run. Those children who are not vaccinated in their childhood against measles may get measles as adults and may experience severe consequences including death. I saw young people dying on ventilators with measles. So please when the COVID vaccine will be widely available, please go and vaccinate yourselves!
As a health professional I already had my COVID vaccine and I am extremely grateful for this. I am grateful for the scientists and the UK government who made it possible to happen.
PS I am really happy that now I am chipped and connected to 5G. Thank you Mr Soros and Bill Gates! ...

chaosisaladder · 01/01/2021 11:48

Yeah it was tacky but that’s Ryanair for you. Still, those scammy bastards have seen me round Europe when I was a broke student so I can’t say too much Grin

asparalite · 01/01/2021 11:58

Complain to the ASA, I have.

billysboy · 01/01/2021 12:01

i wonder if he has refunded evrybody yet

NekoShiro · 01/01/2021 12:11

It reminds me of the old style of pop up ads that would just infect your pc with malware

nosswith · 01/01/2021 12:27

@billysboy Ryanair planes should not be allowed to land in the UK until all refunds are paid.

StarlightLady · 01/01/2021 12:59

Ryanair are not a UK airline and not regulated in the UK.

cushioncovers · 01/01/2021 13:21

Imo you won't be able to freely travel in 2021 without proof of being fully vaccinated

LaceyBetty · 01/01/2021 13:23

Forgive me for being obtuse, but what is wrong with the advert? How is it disrespectful? Their trying to sell plane tickets. I don't get it.

LaceyBetty · 01/01/2021 13:23

*They're

BananaPop2020 · 01/01/2021 13:26

@LaceyBetty it is nowhere near as simple as ‘jab and go’ as the advert suggests. It is disrespectful and cartoonish.

@BananaPop2020 thanks. I will have to check it out. Thought it was just the slogan.

BananaPop2020 · 01/01/2021 13:35

No probs, that was an unexpectedly nice response - I was expecting the usual Mumsnet vitriol!

MountainDweller · 01/01/2021 13:39

I don't really understand how they think it works - do they give you a free vaccine if you travel with them? Otherwise how can you guarantee you'll be vaccinated by the time your holiday comes around?

cushioncovers · 01/01/2021 14:08

Mountain I assumed it meant if you've had the jab with your gp etc you can go on holiday. It's saying get jabbed and you can go on holiday. That's how I understood it.
