Damp and mold on clothes

My mother discovered some damp and mold on some of her clothes.

She is going to try removing it tomorrow.

She will probably use elbow grease and baby wipes. I really think the items should be binned and using baby wipes is probably pointless. If she really doesn't want to bin the items, bleach is probably the only way.

Some of the items are leather and she doesn't want to use bleach on them. I think anything else is pointless.

Is there any way I can help her? How can you get mold out of leather?

Where did it come from?

If it's just sitting on top of the leather, try leather soap or some diluted vinegar.

I would have thought mould would wipe off leather quite easily? Maybe just a cloth wrung out in very hot water and fairy liquid?

It's hard to get out of fabric but leather is different.

I’d completely disagree with getting rid of the items unless it can’t be washed at all. Anything that can go into washing machine with some bio washing powder and washed as normal will be fine unless the mould is to such an extent that it’s breaking down the fabric (in which case binning is the only option). For things like leather, the previous posters suggestion of wiping down with leather soap is a good one. Why would you bin something if it can be washed?

A good wipe and air will sort it. We moved last year and I ended up with a wardrobe full of mildew coats. A good clean then a de humidifier sorted it ,never to return. I think its the moving air that's needed.
