How to study maths and science?

Is there such a thing as an affordable* course which could fill in the gaps in someone’s education (where their only attainment so far is Ds in maths and biology a million years ago) up to a basic GCSE standard?

*affordable: I could probably afford some second hand text books

Enquire your local FE college about GCSE Maths. Ours is free if you have less than a GCSE grade C in maths.

Most resources are online these days and there are dozens of websites that have downloadable worksheets for maths.

You could also try online resources such as corbettmaths.com/

There’s quite a bit of free stuff around at the moment because of the lockdowns.

Oak National Academy, White Rose Marhs videos and BBC bite size might be worth a look.

It's very different if you want to target a specific exam, rather than learn in general. I was good at maths in school. I've helped our kids in their maths study, and I found this site very useful

www.mathsisfun.com/

This allowed me to re-familiarise myself with the topic, and they I was able to read/understand their text books and help
