How do I stop Alexa reading my filth out loud to kids etc?

I’ve googled, I’ve fiddled. Seemingly there is no way to choose which books to share abs which you’d really rather not.

The first thing DD asked was “Alexa read me a story”. So she did. It was not suitable ☹️

@Eminybob

If she did her kids wouldn’t be asking Alexa to surely.
My kids can see out of the window fine but still ask Alexa what the weather forecast is. Or what the time is, or the date etc etc etc 🙄

You can turn off notifications in settings, so Alexa just says a parcel is arriving today but not what it is.

The more I hear about Alexa the more I don't want one 🤪

Neither do I. The primary school aged boys over the road must have got one for Xmas and instead of being like children should be and enjoying the snow they were out on the street telling Alexa (on their phone? I don't know how it works) to say different things and asking it inane questions. Get a life!

@tommika

I love this

You might have better luck with “Alexa tell me a bedtime story”

Might be worse 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Sorry to laugh but it's hilarious

And if her dc decide they fancy a story at 5.30 while the parent is cooking a meal? Can't always drop what you're doing. My dc love an Alexa story at all times including once they get in bed after I've read them several.
